In Paris in 1975, the three Menni brothers opened their first fashion boutique which they bestowed with their names: Jean Marc Philippe. Six years later, the siblings received a telephone call that would change the path of the company forever.

It was a German customer who contacted the owners with hopes of convincing them to specialise in plus size fashion. The business concept fell upon fertile ground at the beginning of the 1980’s, satisfying a niche that already showed a promising future in Germany. The French founders were excited about the new idea, and the former customer still acts as a wholesale dealer for what has become a major fashion company.
