Legalisationistheauthenticationofadocumentbytherelevantauthoritiesinthecountryoforiginofthedocumentanditisnecessaryforboththevalidationofuniversitystudiesandtheofficialrecognitionofqualifications.

Sincethemajorityofourprogrammeshaveadoubledegree(onefromEAEandanotherfromUPC),itisessentialthatthequalificationsobtainedoutsideofSpain,fromwhateveruniversityorinstitution,arelegalisedbeforebeingpresentedtoEAE.

DuringthefirstmonthoflecturesthestudentmustpresenttheoriginaldocumentsoftheiruniversityqualificationandtranscriptattheDAAofEAE.Thedeadlineforhandingtheseinisthreemonthsafterstartingtheprogramme.

ThecertificatesorthecopiesoftheNonSpanishUniversityQualificationspresentedtoEAEmustbelegalisedbytheSpanishembassyorconsulateinthecountryofissue.ThelegalisationofacademicdocumentsdependsonwhetherthecountryofissueispartoftheHagueConvention,theAndresBelloAgreement,theEuropeanUnionCounciloritmustbedonethroughtheSpanishdiplomaticofficeinthatcountry.

Oncethestudenthasobtainedallofthecreditsthatmakeuptheprogramme,theprocessofissuingthedoubledegreewillbeginautomatically,aslongasthestudentcomplieswiththerequirementsestablishedbyUCJCandEAE.

Thisprocesshasadifferentsystemanddurationdependingonthequalificationinquestion,so:

•FortheEAEqualification,itisnotnecessarytocarryoutanyfurtherstepsonyourpartandyouwillreceiveitaboutoneyearfromcompletion.Wewillcontactyouatthattimetoarrangeforyoutocollectitattheschoolorforustosendittoyouraddressifnecessary.

•FortheUCJCqualification(official),youmustpaythecorrespondingchargetoUCJCforitsissueandyoucandothisviatheuniversitywebsite(www.ucjc.edu)andthetimescaletoreceiveitisbetweenthreeandfouryearsafterpayment.

AlllecturesgivenatEAErequireattendancethereforethestudentsmustsignanattendancesheetfoundinthelecturerooms.Thesheetwillbecollectedoverthecourseofthelectureandthestudentscannotprotesttheabsenceoftheirsignatureonceithasbeencollected.ThelecturerofthemoduleoranyotherpersondelegatedbytheAcademicDirectorcandistributealistduringanylecture,tocrosscheckthesignatureswiththosepresentatthelecture.

Ifastudenthassignedtheattendancesheetbutisnotpresentatthetimethelistisdistributedinalecture,itisconsideredtobeaminorinfraction.Habitualreoccurrencebythestudentwillresultinaseriousinfraction,meaningthestudentwillnotbeentitledtobeassessedforthatmodule.

Inthecaseofforgingyourownsignatureorsomebodyelse’stheresponsibilitylieswiththestudentwhoforgedthesignature.

Outofrespectforthelecturerandtheotherstudents,itisnecessarytobepunctualandtorespectthepredeterminedtimetableforeachmodule.Theexams,reportsandcases.

Thestudents,bothnationalandinternational,mustkeepthemselvesinformedregardingthedatesonwhichtheyneedtopresentanyreports,exams,exhibitsetc.(amongothers)correspondingtotheprogrammeorthemodulestheyaretaking.

OnthefirstdayoflecturestheDAAwillprovidethestudentwiththeaccessinformationfortheOnlineEAECampus.Thestudentmustconsultthisplatformdailysincetheupdatedinformationoftheirprogrammeandoftheinstitutioncanbefoundpublishedhere.TheOnlineEAECampuswillbeameansofcommunicationforthedifferentactivitiesofEAE.

AlmudenaisthepatronsaintofpeoplefromMadrid.HerimageappearedonatoweroftheArabcitywallofLaVega,wheresheprobablyhiddenbytheChristians.Onthe9thofNovember1083,abattletookplaceinwhichAlfonsoVIdefeatedtheMuslims.ThisvictorybytheChristiansovertheMuslimsisattributedtoAlmudena,henceherfeastdayiscelebratedonthe9thofNovember.

VirgendelaPaloma

Onthe15thofAugust,theVirgendelaPalomaiscelebrated,whichisoneofthemostauthenticholidaysinMadrid.Duringthefestivitiesthepeople,dressedin“castizos”(19thcenturycostumes),dancethe“chotis”(typicaldanceofMadrid)accompaniedbytraditionalbarrelorgans.AlthoughPalomaisnotanofficialpatronsaintofthecity,thepeopleholdherveryclosetotheirhearts.

PerhapsthebestthingaboutMadridisthatitisabletosatisfyalltastes.TheMadridnightlife(“LaMovidaMadrileña)isnoexception.
