Macarthur Primary School Macarthur Primary School Macarthur Primary School Sad News I would like to extend our sincere sympathy to the Sharrock family on the passing of David last Saturday. We are all thinking of them at this sad time. The students were informed on Monday and a counsellor was available at school for any students who needed this support. Please let me know if you see any changes in behaviour of your children or believe they are in need of support and I will arrange counselling at school. Friday Funeral I am aware that many parents and some of our students will be attending David Sharrock’s funeral on Friday. Classes will be running as normal for students not attending the funeral. Some of our school staff will also be attending the funeral on Friday. However, some school staff will need to remain at school to ensure the school is running smoothly for the students in attendance. We have discussed the arrangements as a school team and decided that Darren Hilliard and Rachell Thomson will remain at school while Jacinta Mulder and myself attend the funeral service. School Disco The MPA are organising a disco for children as part of their annual fundraising events. This was to have been held this Friday, May 3 rd , but has been postponed until May 10 th as a mark of respect for the Sharrock famly. Kitchen Garden Program Thank you to Sally Gay for offering to run the cooking program for our grade 4,5,6 class as part of our Kitchen Garden Program. This program ran yesterday and will run for 3 weeks for each grade. Sally has also volunteered to coordinate the Woolworths Earn and Learn Program for the school this year. Many thanks, Sally. Big Thanks also to Ange Jones who once again joined me in taking the garden group. I appreciate the skill and knowledge that Ange shares on a weekly basis to support our children’s learning in the garden. Congratulations Congratulations to Kyle Smitten on qualifying for the regional athletics competition in the 12 year old boys discus. Kyle came second last week at division level, only 1cm behind the winner. Great job, Kyle. May Race Day Tomorrow is a public holiday in Moyne Shire for May Race Day.
