A Father's Day BlessingGod our Father,In Your wisdom and love You made all things. Bless those fathers who have taken upon themselves the responsibility of parenting. Stephen Ministry | What do Stephen Ministers do?

Stephen Ministers are members of Saint Ambrose Parish who have gone through 50 hours of training to provide con"dential, one-to-one Christian care to people who are facing a crisis or simply going through a di%cult time. A Stephen Minister meets with his or her care receiver once a week for around an hour to listen, care, pray and

provide emotional and spiritual encouragement. Men are matched with male Stephen Ministers, and women are matched with female Stephen Ministers.

To "nd out more about how someone you know could be matched with a Stephen Minister, please talk with one of our Stephen Ministry Leaders: Lisa Homady at [email protected] or 330.460.7315, or Carol Maline at [email protected] or 330.460.7336.

3WEEKLY PARISH BULLETIN - June 21, 2020

…”Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” This weekend we return to the liturgical season called Ordinary Time (it’s not Lent/Easter/Advent or Christmas). Our Gospel reminds us of the extraordinary care that God has for each of us. Do not ever be afraid. God cares so much about us – and is so attentive – that He even knows every hair on our head. Extraordinary care and attention – that’s God’s blessing in our lives. There is nothing ordinary about the attention and care that God has for us. On our part, we should never take this care and love for granted. Every day – thank you Jesus – for your great love.

…Happy Father’s Day to all of our dads, grandfathers, godfathers. Today we celebrate your care and love for your children and family. Today’s Gospel o&ers a great re*ection on the care that our Heavenly Father has for each of us. Our own dads put a face on the care and love of God for each of us. May God bless our fathers. May God strengthen you as Godly men – role models of faith – for your family.

…God bless our team for preparing a great Father’s Day page on our website. It’s "lled with prayers and activities to help celebrate Father’s Day. There are some great ways for kids to help re*ect on the blessing of their dads. Check it out at: www.StAmbrose.us/fathers-day.

…This is the last weekend that Father Jeremy will be with us. He is heading back ‘home’ to Saint Francis in Akron to serve as Administrator (and God-willing, eventually Pastor). He has been a great blessing to our community. He clearly lives and proclaims the Joy of the Gospel in his good spirit, joyful smile and hopeful preaching. I will certainly miss him. He’s been so eager to help, serve, and bring the care of Christ to our community. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts.

…God bless you for your prayers, and cards, and care for Father Bob Lorkowski. May God be his strength on the journey. Watch for updates.

…With Father Jeremy saying goodbye and Father Lorkowski on the mend, I will do my best to respond to your calls and needs. Father Andrew Hoover arrives on August 5, 2020. We may need to do some changes to the weekday Mass schedule for the month of July. Father Chris Uhl will be visiting his family and will help some next week. Watch for details.

…Thanks to all who are helping with the PB&J brigade. We are providing about 250 lunches every day and 1200 over the weekend. They are being passed out through established outreach ministries in CLE and AKR. If possible, the need will continue forever but especially through July and August. Thank you for all who are making sandwiches at home and those who come each night to assemble the lunches. If you can help, or want to learn more, please contact Sean at [email protected].

…Speaking of good food….we are working to !nalize plans for our summer festival. Watch for details online over the weekend. Hold the date for July 23 – 26, 2020. If everything goes well you will have some great music and tasty food.

…Along the lines of good food….Jacob Keller is leading the charge on a Krispy Kreme doughnut sale. Today’s bulletin gives all the details. He’s working to raise funds for his Eagle Scout project which is to help ‘drain’ the area by the outdoor stations and set the foundation for a walking path around the Stations the Cross down the Grotto. This will be a great addition for our parish. He needs to raise $3,000 (for gravel, pipe, etc.). That’s a lot of doughnuts…but then…we love our doughnuts at SA.

…Speaking of which, today is the Third Sunday of the month…Donut Sunday!! Doughnuts will be bagged and ready to go at each of the doors of the Church. Take one home for an elderly neighbor on Father’s Day.

…This weekend we say thank you and farewell to Matt Fodor. Matt has been such a blessing for our parish community over the past three years. He has lifted our spirits and stirred our souls as he has lead our music ministry. Matt did an amazing job helping our parish move into the renovated Church. He was instrumental in making sure we had the right equipment and technology

to help us hear and see God’s Word and to celebrate our faith. We wish Matt and his family all the best. I am so grateful for his great work for our community. Please join me in thanking Matt.

…The FEST is coming soon. It’s going to be an online celebration of faith and family. It will truly be a day of hope "lled with 8 of the best national Christian bands/artists along with all the things you’ve come to expect as part of this great day of faith, family and fun. Please check out the website: www.theFEST.us and invite everyone you know to join you on Sunday, August 9, 2020 for The FEST@Home. We are announcing a few bands a week. Check out all the details.

…Our campus is coming alive this summer, certainly not to the pace of other years, but it’s great to see our Saint Ambrose Summer Camp program up and running along with a number of sports campus. The great weather has been so helpful to have all of our student athletes literally spread over the entire campus. The Boosters are working hard to continue to !nd new ways to engage and train our student athletes. This week Girl’s Lacrosse Camp was a huge success!!!

…Here’s an example of great good coming out of all the realities of our time….we are blessed to be baptizing young children again. We are doing them one at a time and it’s absolutely wonderful to see our families and their closest friends coming together for prayer. So many spend time wandering around the Church to check it out. It’s beautiful. If we can help someone in your family, please contact Kim Nemet ([email protected]).

…It’s great to have our Second Graders coming to the Table of the Lord as part of our weekend Masses. Again, so special to see our young children surrounded by their family in prayer. Families that pray together, stay together.

…Thank you, Jesus for all the blessings of our community. Thank you, Jesus for this great summer season. Thank you, Jesus for our great members. Thank you, Jesus for your care for each of us. Thank you, Jesus.

Lectio Prayer GroupVirtual Meetings Starting in July

Though prayer is one of the essentials of a thriving faith, we often feel as if we’re talking to ourselves—or worse, as if we’re talking to no one at all. How can something so vital to the Faith be so elusive? Lectio: Join us to watch the series and develop a closer relationship with God.

This virtual study will allow you to watch episodes on FORMED at home prior to the meeting (30 minutes). The Zoom Meeting will be Wednesdays, July 8 - August 12 at 7:00 pm. During the meeting, we will have discussion about the video and the questions in the workbook. The workbook can be downloaded and printed from FORMED for FREE or purchased through the parish for $10.00, we have 10 copies available. If you would like to participate, contact Trish Shaw, [email protected] or 440.590.0083.

Saint Ambrose Catholic SchoolA Note From Lisa Cinadr"Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it." - Proverbs 22:6

As we continue to move forward in planning for the upcoming school year, there is so much that happens behind the scenes to keep us future-ready and prepared to take the very best care of our school family.

During our time out of school, teachers were busy preparing and presenting lessons of relevance and challenge to our students. In addition, they were also honing their own skills to best serve all students. Such great examples of grit and resilience!

A few examples include:

Littlest Angels Preschool sta& learned about the following: Outdoor Nature, Play-19; The Healing Power of Optimism; Maintaining Composure: The 5 Steps of Self-Regulation (Conscious Discipline©).

We now have 4 primary teachers who completed training in Orton-Gillingham and are very excited to begin using it.

We know that the emotional repercussions of the pandemic are real and we are preparing now for the varied needs of our students. Our administrators and teachers are "attending" trauma-informed care training now. This is in addition to the Youth Mental Health First Aid Training we received.

We are also a trauma-informed care pilot school through the Diocese of Cleveland Catholic Schools O%ce.

All this in addition to most importantly, focusing on Jesus Christ who is Everything for us, as well as working on honing our skills in academic best practices. We value each and every child of God. We are committed to providing everything for each one, and with these challenging times, our hearts continue to be with our school families. We are continually working to support and provide the very best for our family!

May God bless you and your families!

Sincerely in Christ,Lisa Cinadr

Marriage MomentsMt. 10:26

"Terror on every side!" "Fear no one." There's much to fear these days. How do you calm your fears? Talk about how you comfort each other.

Parenting PointersFather's Day

Although June 21 is Father's Day, Mother's Day often seems to get more attention. What is a hidden, quiet talent of your own Father? Mothers, ask your child what ability their father has that is not commonly known. Suggest your child share it.

Cub Scouts Drive Thru Crossover CeremonyWednesday, June 24 | 6:30 pm at the Grotto Parking Lot

With the Covid-19 Pandemic still a concern, we will have a Drive Through Crossover Ceremony. This will insure the safety of our pack families and allow our scouts to receive the awards they have worked so hard for. In addition, the scouts will be able to pick up their books and rank materials for the upcoming scout year.

How this will work:

· When you and your family arrive, !nd a parking spot and stay in your car.· We will either have a speaker system set up, a zoom call set up or a AM/FM channel setup for everyone to listen into. · Once we are ready to start, a Leader will start directing cars on where to go.· A car will pull up next to the Crossover Bridge and the scout and one parent will get out of the car (with protective masks). · The parent and scout will cross the Bridge into their next rank and receive their awards from the award table.· If the parent so desires, a Leader will take a picture and email it to the scout family. · The scout and parent will then get back into their car and follow the directions of a Leader back to a parking spot.· The leaders will be present, wearing masks and gloves to set out the awards and such on the tables. Proper sanitization will be followed.

The scouts are allowed to being working on their next rank immediately. But also remember that the scouts have until July 31 this year to "nish any requirements for their previous rank.

Walking With Moms In NeedSupporting Mothers in our Community

Pregnant and Parenting moms in need are in our parishes and neighborhoods. As Pope Francis reminds us, our parishes need to be “islands of mercy in the midst of the sea of indi#erence.” Everyone in our parish community should know where to refer a pregnant woman in need. The Saint Ambrose Culture of Life Committee is participating in a nationwide e&ort entitled “Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service.”

We are looking for parishioners interested in helping with this project. We will also be inviting all parishioners to join us through

prayer and service after we determine the needs of our community. Call Trish Shaw 440.590.0083 or go to www.walkingwithmoms.com to learn more.
