speed  bandwith  connecXvity  to  every  Gram  Panchayat  (2,50,000).  

•  2014  –  NaXonal  Health  Portal  was  launched  www.nhp.gov.in

•  GOI  has  established  NKN  ,  a  state-­‐of-­‐the-­‐art  mulX-­‐gigabit  Pan-­‐India  network  backbone  for  all  knowledge  related  insXtuXons  in  the  country.    

•  NKN  has  already  connected  831  insXtuXons,  including  151  medical  insXtuXons    

 

•  SWAN  –  State  Wide  Area  Network  by  GOI  to  enable  states  to  have  bandwith  connecXvity  of  2  –  10  MBPS  Xll  the  block  level.

•  BBNL,  a  SPV  for  the  NOFN  project  has  started  3  pilot  projects  under  NOFN  in  3  blocks  covering  58  Gram  Panchayats  in  3  states  –  Arian  Block,  Ajmer  (Rajasthan);  Parvada,  Visakhapatnam  (AP)  &  Panisagar  (  Tripura).  TM  centre  in  each  block  is  connected  with  a  medical  college    

•  Regional  Resource  Centres  (RRC)  –                SGPGIMS,  Lucknow  is  the  RCC  for  UP,  Bihar  ,    

 Jharkhand  ,  WB,  Odisha  ,  Andaman  &  Nicobar    Islands

 •  PGIMER,  Chandigarh  is  the  RRC  for  J&K,  Punjab,  

Chandigarh,  Haryana  &  HP.  

•  KEM,  Mumbai  is  the  RRC  for  Maharashtra,  Gujarat,  Goa  ,  Daman  &  DIU  ,  Dadra  &  Nagar  Haveli  

 •  AIIMS  Delhi  is  the  RRC  for  Ufarakhand,  Delhi,  MP,  

Chhagsgarh  &  Rajasthan      •  JIPMER  is  the  RRC  for  AP,  Tamil  Nadu,  Karnataka,  

Kerala  and  Puducherry

•  NEIGRHIMS  is  the  RRC  for  Assam,  Meghalaya,  Tripura,  Manipur,  Sikkim  ,  Arunachal  Pradesh  ,  Nagaland  &  Mizoram  

 •  Gujarat  ,  Maharashtra  ,  Odisha  and  Ufarakhand  

are  using  PPPs  in  Telemedicine      •  108  is  a  success  story  for  a  scalable  project      •  Tele-­‐radiology  ,  Tele-­‐opthalmology,  MCTS    &  

Emergency  response  services  are  success  stories  in  eHealth

•  MEA,  GOI  has  iniXated  two  projects  1)  Pan-­‐African  e-­‐Network  Project  2)  SAARC  e-­‐Network  Tele-­‐Medicine  Project  

 •  There  are  about  35  projects  /  iniXaXves  funded  by  

IFI’s  like;  World  Bank,  USAID  &  BMGF  

•  There  are  more  than  40  Private  Sector  Projects      •  Shankara  Nethralaya,  L  V  Prasad  Eye  InsXtute  &  

Aravind  Eye  Care  system  are  the  best  examples  of  Telemedicine  backed  hospital  networks
