EUROPEAN EXPANSION?
Luxembourg offers excellent access to the European single (digital) market. Free movement of goods and people. Strong policies enhancing digital innovation and free flow of data. 60% of Europe’s GDP is created in less than 700 km from Luxembourg! Luxembourg’s language skills ease access to French and German speaking regional markets.
OPEN MINDED AND INTERNATIONAL
75% of Luxembourg’s workforce are foreign citizens. This includes about 200.000 highly qualified professionals from France, Germany and Belgium. Living in Luxembourg means living together with 50% foreigners from more than 170 different nations.
RELIABLE AND BALANCED
Luxembourg has a reputation in removing walls. Openness led to prosperity, and prosperity led to sustainable social structures and stable leaderships. Luxembourg has AAA status; strikes and demonstrations are extremely rare!
BUSINESS INNOVATION
Luxembourg evolved from a steel and coal economy to a hub for financial services, currently #1 in the Euro Zone. Less known is Luxembourg’s position in broadcasting services (RTL), space technologies (SES), and e-commerce (Amazon Europe, Alipay, Mercedes Pay). Luxembourg’s national digitalization strategy and leading role in EuroHPC, paves the way for next generation digital innovation and creation of new businesses.
ATTRACTING TALENT
Luxembourg is actively supporting high value-add businesses, attracting high value-add (international) talent. Luxembourg provides safety, affordable healthcare, excellent education and solid pensions. Quality of life makes international talent (and their families) decide to stay in Luxembourg.
WELL LOCATED – EXCELLENTLY CONNECTED
Paris, Brussels, Eindhoven, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt, Aachen and Cologne, all within a range of 3 hrs from Luxembourg. Airport Findel connects to almost 100 destinations in Europe. Large airport hubs are served with multiple flights each day: London Heathrow (2), Amsterdam (3), Zurich (3), Paris (4), Frankfurt (5) and Munich (7).
SETTLE DOWN IN LUXEMBOURG, RECRUIT IN THE GREATER REGION
Luxembourg Greater Region counts 11.5 million inhabitants. Most of the growth and value-add employment is created in Luxembourg. German, French and English are widely spoken. Schengen (treaty) symbolises our view on open borders and importance of cross-border cooperation and cross-border employment.

WE ARE INVESTING IN MOBILITY INNOVATION…
Luxembourg is developing a 140.000 m2 science park dedicated to sustainable mobility innovation. 24 M EUR already invested. 26 M EUR approved for phase 2. IEE, Goodyear, Luxembourg University and Post Telecom are co-investing on site.
MOBILITY INNOVATION CAMPUS – PHASE 1 MID 2019
Phase 1 includes roads and utility infrastructure (including 4G network), green zones, IEE HQ with R&D facilities (1) and temporary parking (2)
Existing infrastructure offers access to sport facilities (3), existing business park with companies and restaurants (4), and access to a highly secured data centre (5) hosting future HPC investments (2020).

MOBILITY INNOVATION CAMPUS – PHASE 2 Q4 2021
Phase 2 is about an additional (released) investment of 26 million EUR in a business incubation facility (1) with campus restaurant and conference rooms, car park (2) and recreation areas (3)
During Phase 2, the key-values of the Mobility Innovation Campus will materialized: sustainability, circularity, automated and connected mobility. 5G will be available in 2020.

VEHICLE DYNAMICS
The Mobility Innovation Campus is located near the Goodyear Innovation Centre and its test facilities. This offers excellent collaboration opportunities in the field of high-performance vehicle dynamics. In addition, the famous Nürburgring and F1 circuit of Spa-Francorchamps are in range of less than 150km from Luxembourg.
HANDS OFF!
IEE is the first investor on the campus. A global leader in automotive sensing technologies with products in occupant classification, vision sensing, steering wheel hands-off detection, life-sign recognition, drowsiness recognition, gesture control, thermal comfort and battery management. IEE enables OEMs to revolutionize the inside of the vehicle!
LUXEMBOURG START-UP NATION
Mobility innovators benefit from the proximity to German and French development centres. Close, but not too close! A bit of distance to traditional industry thinking doesn’t hurt. Mobility innovators like Ujet, Examotive (Oply), Motion-S and Civil Maps prove attractiveness of start-up nation Luxembourg.
AUTONOMOUS READY?
Germany, France and Luxembourg created a 215 km closed loop cross-border testbed, covering most common European road situations and traffic scenario’s: tunnels, toll zones, high-speed zones, border crossings, dense traffic, etc. A harmonized permit procedure eases access to this unique test-field on public roads.
FORRUNNER IN 5G
European funded 5GCroCo connects key-players from automotive and telecom industries, utilizing the DU-FR-LU cross-border testbed with (partial) 5G coverage in 2020. 5G cross-border connectivity allows OEMs, digital service providers, and road administrations, to develop and test innovative services and break-through safety applications, inside and outside the vehicle!
SUMMARIZED
Many multinationals have chosen for Luxembourg as gateway to Europe. For its central location, international business climate, competitiveness, and reliability. But also because of the ability to deal with many different cultures and linguistic barriers across Europe. Luxembourg is investing in an unique R&D test environment for connected and autonomous vehicles, allowing mobility innovators to demonstrate their latest technologies on the doorstep of future customers!
