2. June 16-20, 1993, Washington, D.C.: Steering Committee reviewed theresults of the national needs assessment and finalized the 15 standardsareas to be developed as well as appointed the members of theStandards Committees.

3. October 6-10, 1993, Washington, D.C.: Steering Committee reviewed thefirst draft of the standards and finalized levels 1-2. Reviewed and finalizedthe procedures and instruments to be used by the Evaluation and ReviewCommittees.

4. December 15-19, 1993, Las Vegas, NV: Steering Committee reviewedlevels 1-4 and identified areas that still needed work. Reviewed the resultsof the pilot evaluations performed by the Evaluation and ReviewCommittees.

President of the NCPERID (1991-92. My most significant accomplishments asPresident were: changed the name of the organization, revised the terms ofoffice for the Board members, revised the by-laws, established a priority for theorganization to develop national standards for the field of adapted physicaleducation.

In conjunction with the Achievement-based Curriculum grant from NDN, conducted twoweek-long leadership workshops which were held at the University of Virginia:January 6-11 and August 3-8. A total of 17 college/university professors attendedthese workshops and represented institutions from all regions of the U.S.

Conducted a survey for AAHPERD Adapted Physical Activity Council on the roles andresponsibilities of Adapted Physical Educators in the United States.

As President of the NCPERH, I met several times (3/14, 5/13, 6/5, 9/19) during 1991with the Executive Director of the National Association of State Directors ofSpecial Education (NASDSE). As a result of these meetings, a three-day ActionSeminar was planned and held in Washington, D.C. on May 1-3, 1991 on thestatus of Adapted Physical Education and a report summarizing the findings ofthis Action Seminar was produced in August of 1991.

In conjunction with the Achievement-based Curriculum grant from NDN, two week-longleadership workshops were held at the University of Virginia: February 5-10 andAugust 5-10, 1991. A total of 15 college/university professors attended theseworkshops and represented institutions from all regions of the U.S.

As President-elect of the NCPERH during the Spring of 1991, I was responsible forplanning all aspects (program, facilities, AV and registration) of the 1991NCPERH Annual conference that was held in Arlington, VA on July 17-20, 1991.

Served at the Convention Manager for the Virginia Association of Health, PhysicalEducation, Recreation and Dance State conference held in Charlottesville onDecember 6-8, 1991. I was responsible for soliciting presentations, planning theprogram, assigning meeting rooms, coordinating the AV and running registration.

Conducted a one-day workshop for the physical education staff of the Danville PublicSchools on the Achievement-Based Curriculum, January 25, 1991.

Conducted a series of nine four-hour workshops for the Albemarle County middleschool physical education staff on developing an achievement-based curriculumfor their program: 1/24, 3/18, 4/29, 9/23, 10/15, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3, 12/17, 1991.

Organized, hosted, and conducted the Eastern United States ABC/I CAN LeadershipTraining Workshop, held at the University of Virginia, June 25-27, 1987. Thisworkshop was attended by six university faculty and four doctoral students fromthe eastern United States.

Designed, implemented and evaluated a needs assessments for the Albemarle CountySchools in conjunction with Ron Adams and Greg Shasby to determine district'sinservice training needs in the area of Adapted Physical Education. A series ofthree 1 credit courses were then designed to be implemented during the 1987-88school year to meet these assessed needs.
