Everyone wants to have a good luck; everyone hates a misfortune. But, the question is how to get a good luck? A good luck to come could not be controlled by an individual personally. The luck is an unexpected benefit or success. However, a man’s success depends on three main factors. If you know Chinese characters, those three factors can be written as “天时”(tianshi = heavenly clock), “地理” (dili = geological reason), “人和” (renhe = human being’s social harmony). It means that the timing, the location, and the friendly assistance are three essential factors whichcontrol the success for doing things. You may say: “Mr. Sevigohw. You are wrong. Success is chiefly determined by well preparation and accurate calculation.” Yes, you are right. It is true that preparation and accurate calculation are helpful in many successful stories. However, here is another Chinese old saying: “天有不测风云” (tian you bu ce feng yun = There might appear unexpected hurricanes and cloudiness),人有旦夕祸福”(ren you dan xi huo fu = A man may encounter a misfortune in the morning, but, a good luck in the same day evening). That is called “人算不如天算” (rensuan buru tian suan = Sometimes well calculated things by men are not as true as the final arrangements by the natural force”. That had been proved by a lot of events in history, such that some people sent himself/herself to death by visiting a place where it just could hit by a tsunami, or, earthquake, or, a terrible attack like the twin buildings in “911”. There was other sample like Napoleon’s ambition to conquer Russia was perished by severe cold winter weather, etc.

The author had modified the ancient Chinese five elements hypothesis and invented a method by shaking four dice to help players to determine



his/her lucky colors. The principle is showed on the cover of this article. Here is the explanation below.

There are four different color materials to make four dice. The blue die represents “heavenly clock”. The gray die represents “geological reason”. The light brown die represents “social harmony”. The red die represents “yourself”. Each die has six faces. They are printed with six Chinese characters and used different colors.

“ ”金 (jin = gold,in yellow color)

“ ”木 (mu = wood, in green color)

“ ”水 (shui = water,in blue color)

(Traditionally, people used black color to represent water in the five elements hypothesis.)

“ ”火 (huo = fire, in red color)

“ ”土 (soil or mud, in brown color)

“ ”气 (qi = air or energy, in purple color) (“qi” was added by the author in addition to five elements.)

The method of dice playing:

As one can see in the front diagram, there are six small color circles at the top of the black large circle. They represent the 6 faces of the die of heavenly clock, or, the die of heaven, or, DH. There are another six small color circles at the lower-left part of the large black circle. They belong to the die of geological reason, or, the die of soil, or DS. There are another six small color circles at the lower-right part of the large black circle. They belong to the die of social harmony, or, the die of man, or, DM.



The player must throw four dice several times until that three dice show the same surface color pattern on the top. That means that the heaven, the earth, and the human being all are favorable to the player. Each small circle of DH can make 6 connections with 6 circles of DS and also 6 connections with 6 circles of DM and to form 6 x 6 x 6 triangles. The 6 color faces of DS can also make 6 x 6 x 6 = 216 triangles with DH and DM. The 6 color faces of DM can also make 6 x 6 x 6 = 216 triangles with DS and DH. So, there will be 648 triangles all together. But, each triangle has repeated three times. The actual number of triangles is only 216. Among those 216 triangles there are only six triangles that have the same color. That means the average possibility of the same color of three dice is 6/216, or, 1/36. There is a small circle in the center of the large black circle in that diagram. That is the die, which represents the player. The color of that die is now shown in yellow color. But, it can be shown in other five colors separately. The player can select either a long-play, or a shot-play. In the long-play, the player has to select one color die to represent him/her as the subject. Let other three dice to match the same pattern of top face color. In the short-play, the player does not need to select one color die to represent the player, but to let any three dice to match the same pattern of face color. The un-matched die represents the color of player. Then, use a specially designed color chart (see below) to find the number of player’s result. The top horizontal six color circles represent the player. There are thirty-six color patterns in that color chart. The number in the grid indicated the lucky color condition. Then, the player needs to use that number to find the corresponding sound track (or words), which explains the meaning of lucky color. You can also use your own words to explain the meaning of the dice colors based on the following color relationship of the subject and the surrounding.

On the other hand,

“ ” 金 produces or nurses “ ”水 , “水” produces or nurses “ ”木 , “木” produces or nurses “ ”火 , “ ” 火produces or nurses “ ”土 , “ ” 土 produces or nurses “ ”金 ,

“ ” 气 benefits to “木”.
