Pipe Cleaning & Pretreatment Systems
Pipe cleaning and surface preparation is a process that is only as good as the technology employed to do it. The technology is only as good as the manufacturer that stands behind it. LS Industries has been designing and building custom solutions for metal cleaning since 1977. Our experience is your assurance that an LS Pipe Blaster will deliver precise performance, optimum efficiency and a long-lasting service life.
We pride ourselves, not only on the exceptional quality of our systems, but also on providing complete support for your pipe cleaning operations. We assign product managers to work as your in-plant liaison, ensuring that your job requirements are reflected throughout the manufacturing process.
Because our product line encompasses a full range of both internal and external surface blasters, we can often find a solution within our existing product line. However, we often customize from scratch. Our in-house engineers see the product through the complete manufacturing process and, as needed provide field support to help you get started with your new system. We also deliver complete parts and service support throughout the long life of your LS Pipe Blaster.
From design through manufacture and far beyond, LS Industries stands tall behind every system we deliver.
Coverage is key when it comes to the cleaning
performance of a pipe blaster. That’s why our
blasters incorporate our Turboshot™ impeller design
that ensures maximum exposure to steel shot.
The Turboshot™ impeller consists of four sturdy
steel blades mounted on a rotating drive shaft. As
shot enters the housing, it feeds directly into the
path of the impeller blades, producing a 450 lbs./
minute impact on all exposed surfaces. Shot usage
is monitored on a display showing amperes being
drawn by the Turboshot™ wheels. Extra shot is
stored in the exit auger and is added automatically
by the blaster in response to amperage readings.
The Turboshot™ assembly is easily accessed through
hinge-mounted doors. The impeller blades are wear-
resistant for long life, but are also designed to be
easily replaceable to minimize service downtime.
LS Turboshot:™ Perfecting the blasting process
LS Industries internal pipe blasters can handle pipe from 2 1/8” to 96“ and larger. Work heights vary as do weight limits. Custom pipe blasters can be designed for your metal cleaning needs. Typical cleaning operations for the internal pipe blaster include: spools, tube and pipe. The internal pipe blasters are versatile and can be used prior to other processes such as surface, preparation for coatings or by reducing passivation-pickling times.
All LS Blasters are built from durable steel, alloy steel and cast chrome with welded seams. Electrical components are UL and CSA registered, and a Cycle Timer is provided to precisely control blast duration, if required. Designed for streamlined efficiency, OD Blasters employ a conveyor to move pipe through a single or multi-stage process that can include blasting, surface preparation and washing as well as a final coating stage.
Tougher than the steel they treat, LS Blasters are built to clean pipe inside and out to the most demanding specifications.

LS supplies a premium grade of steel shot unmatched in the world today. Soft shot and stainless steel shot are also available depending on your job requirements.
Blast chamber conveyor wheels are protected by manganese alloy.
ID Wheel Style Blaster Head
ID Pipe Blasters The LS ID pipe blaster cleans the interior surface of pipe using a pressure pot power supply that feeds a lance/nozzle combination. The pipe is rotated for 360-degree coverage, while the lance/nozzle travels the length of the pipe. ID wheel blast systems begin at 30” pipe ID.
Before and after comparison
LS Material Handling Conveyors are custom built for secure and efficient pipe
processing. The durable steel frame and roller
assembly are built to withstand the heaviest
loads for long-lasting performance and reliability.
Trust LS for total blasting system solutionsSurface cleaning and preparation is a big job that
requires equipment that is custom fitted to every
task involved. Working with one company to
develop a complete, integrated system is the best
way to ensure reliable performance and optimum
productivity. LS Industries designs and builds
systems with the big picture in mind: Maximum
efficiency and consistent, predictable results. From
material handling to environmental controls to
specialized cleaning requirements, you can rely on
LS Industries as your one-stop source for all your
surface prep needs.
Jet Air Pulse Reverse Dust
Collector filters air pulled from the
blast cabinet through a series of four heavy
duty, replaceable cartridges that remove
particulate contamination and spent shot.
The 1,240 sq. ft. filter media combined
with a 4,000 CFM fan capacity approaches
97 efficiency on .8 micron particulate and
100% on 2 micron. Dust collectors are
standard equipment on all LS Blasters and
are available in a variety of sizes.
LS Pipe Thread Blaster cleans both
internal and external threads in 4” to 16”
diameter sections. The blast nozzle on the
lance is advanced into the pipe pneumatically.
Conveyors feed the pipe into the blast chamber
with a revolving motion to ensure full-surface
coverage. The LS Pipe Thread Blaster is
constructed of welded mild steel with a cast
chrome liner.
Custom solutions are designed
to accommodate any size of pipe and
to deliver the precise shot blasting
performance required for virtually any
production application.
Trust LS Industries for turnkey solutions to all your metal cleaning
and finishing challenges.
We design what we make and service what we sell.
Whether you need custom equipment or one of
our many standard configurations, every system
we deliver has been supervised on the production
line by the engineers who designed it. So you can
be sure it performs exactly to specification. You
can also be sure that we’ve built your LS Blasting
System to be safe and easy to operate and to last
for many years after you’ve recovered your
initial investment.
