SUMMER ART SOUP 2013Storytelling AdventuresPresented by Rutgers–Camden Center for the ArtsYou can’t miss “Tall Tales with Kyle J.” Everyone’s favorite storyteller, Kyle Jakubowski, will weave his delightful word magic and captivate preschool-aged children through interac-tive storytelling. Each weekly session includes several different stories, which the children help to tell through call-and-response, creative movement, and other ways that provide engaged learning and encourage a love of words and an interest in reading. After the story, the children will create an artwork inspired by one of the stories.
Who Should Attend:Children aged 3 to 6 with their parents or guardians.Groups of 10 or more interested in attending should reserve space by calling Miranda Powell at 856-225-6202
Each week brings different stories based on this summer’s theme of “Dig Into Reading.” Story sessions are repeated four times each week and are located at the Camden County Library Branch at Rutgers–Camden. Storytelling programs take place from 10 to11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon each Tuesday and Wednesday on the following dates:

These acclaimed authors of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry will read from their works throughout the conference. Featured writers have been recognized with national and international awards.
The reading series is open to the public and free. Refreshments will be served.
Readings begin at 1 p.m. in the Stedman Gallery, Fine Arts Building.

The Stedman Gallery houses a collection of 470-plus artworks by 20th and 21st century artists with a focus on works of art on/of paper by American artists. The works displayed throughout the Camden campus include works that have been acquired over the years through donations and acquisi-tions, and are newly framed. Art on display includes works by Susan Chrysler White, Joe Goode, Shelley Thorstensen, Sam Maitin, Ed Matalon, Olga Moore, and Lowell Nesbitt, official NASA artist for flights 9 and 13.
