Claiming Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit: A Major “Draw” to the Annual Meeting
Attendees must first verify attendance before claiming credit – automatically done when their badge is printed onsite.
Credit is then obtained by evaluating the session by clicking Evaluate for that session in their agenda.
They then answer short questions about the session and select Complete to complete the evaluation.
Attendees must complete evaluations for all the sessions which they intend to receive credit.
Attendees can evaluate a course and claim CME credit as early as ten minutes after the session begins.
Conflicting Session Times
To claim credit, sessions must not overlap in time. Attendees can evaluate as many sessions as they wish, but the can only claim credit for one session at a time per the American Medical Association.
Resolving Session Conflicts
Once overlapping sessions have been evaluated, a Resolve Session Conflicts choice will appear in Credit Eval panel (left hand side of page)
Attendees must choose one of the sessions for which to claim credit
Select Resolve Session Conflicts in the Credit Eval panel
Select the radio button labeled “Select for CME” beneath the session you want credit for
The chosen session will have a green background
The discarded session will have a pink background
There are “Deselect” radio buttons if you wish to change your selection
An alert in red will appear stating that once you click “Submit” you will be unable to modify your selection
Select Submit o Both sessions will remain in your agenda, but only the one chosen for credit will
have a “Completed” icon listed next to it
Finalizing CME Credit
CME credit is only assigned once an attendee has “finalized” their credit certificate.
An attendee must be completely finished with their evaluations prior to finalizing.
Finalizing can only be done ONE time.
Attendees have until one week following the meeting to finalize their credit. o All evaluations and credit claiming must be complete by Friday, December
7, 2018.
Finalizing Process
Depending on the registration type of the attendee, they will be prompted to choose a certificate type in the Credit Eval panel
o Note: some attendees are not given this option depending on their registration type
Select Choose Certificate Type in the Credit Eval panel
Select an option from the drop down menu that appears

Viewing and Printing Credit Certificates
Before finalizing their credit, they can view a draft certificate at any time by clicking View
Certificate Draft. They will receive an email with a PDF copy of their certificate upon finalization. Go to Meeting Central or an Internet Station to log in and print a certificate while at the
meeting. For members of RSNA, credits will be applied to the RSNA CME Repository. Note: AART Technologists will receive credit certificates via snail mail a week after the meeting. They do not have access to digital copies via Credit Eval.
Types of Credit
Physicians and other medical scientists are eligible for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit. Their credit type is AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. They follow the process described above to claim CME.
Radiologic Technologists that are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) must follow AART guidelines to obtain their type of credit, Category A/A+ credits.
o AART technologists must be present for the duration of their sessions. o Their badge, equipped with Eventbit – Beacon Technology will automatically
track their attendance in all sessions. o Additionally, they also use Credit Eval to evaluate their sessions. o However, they receive their certificates by snail mail a week after the meeting.
They do not have access to digital copies of their certificates via Credit Eval.
CME and International Attendees
CME is accepted in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Interested attendees should contact the CME governing body in their home country for details. Questions about CME? Email [email protected]
SELF-ASSESSMENT MODULE COURSES (SAMs)
Self-assessment module (SAM) courses are another type of session that attendees can attend for SA-CME (Self-assessment CME credit). SAM module assessments consist of questions for the attendee to answer for SA-CME credit.
SAM Courses in the Meeting Program
Attendees search for and add SAM courses to their agenda using the online program. Attendees can search for SAM courses easily by selecting the checkbox for “Self-assessment Module (SAM)” under Advanced Filters. Sessions that are SAM eligible are marked with the icon below in the program.

Cost of SAM Courses: FREE!
SAM courses are free for all attendees.
Attendance for SAM Courses: Physical Attendance is Mandatory
Attendees must be physically in attendance at the session. Docents will scan their badges to ensure that the SA-CME credit for the session is flagged in Credit Eval.
Earning SA-CME Credit
Attendees must still evaluate the session within Credit Eval in order to ensure that they receive credit. Attendees will receive both SA-CME credit and CME credit for the same session; once they have been scanned for the SAM course, the SA-CME credit flag has been set within Credit Eval. SA-CME credit is officially awarded after the answers have been graded.
ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION AND CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE
Attendance Verification is Required for Attendees to Claim Credit
While attendees must be verified at the annual meeting, they no longer have to do anything to be verified. Their badge is equipped with Eventbit – Beacon technology that will automatically verify them when their badge is printed. No additional steps will need to be taken. Also, many institutions that send their physicians and technicians want to see some evidence of their having attended the meeting. The Certificate of Attendance satisfies this need.
Certificates of Attendance
1. When a badge is printed the attendee will automatically be emailed a personalized certificate of attendance.
2. Visit Meeting Central and log in to print a personalized certificate while at the meeting. 3. Visit either Information Desk for a handwritten personalized certificate of attendance. 4. After the meeting, email [email protected] to request a personalized certificate of
attendance.

DIGITAL POSTERS / ELECTRONIC EXHIBITS (DPS)
https://dps.rsna.org/
About Digital Posters / Electronic Exhibits
Digital Posters are a collection of electronic Education Exhibits, Scientific Posters, Scientific Papers, and Quality Storyboards that have been accepted via abstract submission. You will most commonly hear attendees refer to these collectively as “electronic exhibits.”
Digital Poster (DPS) Physical Location at McCormick Place
There are 3 study lounges and 20 Subspecialty Communities within the Learning Center Hall D, Lakeside Center – East
Digital Posters are also accessible by:
Physical meeting attendees with a badge on the RSNA wireless network through Meeting Central or the Mobile App
Registered Virtual Meeting attendees through Meeting Central NOTE: Physical meeting attendees must purchase a virtual meeting registration to access Digital Posters outside of McCormick place!
Digital Posters Login
Attendees login with their Registrant ID (badge number) and password (last name). If they access the site while logged into Meeting Central, the Virtual Meeting website, or Case of the Day, they will be automatically logged into DPS.
There is no CME for Digital Posters Except for Lunchtime Presentations
Digital Posters, by themselves, do not meet the requirements for CME credit. However, Lunchtime Presentations are interactive sessions that are eligible for CME credit, and are located in the Subspecialty Communities in the Learning Center.
Post-meeting Access
Not all posters are available after the annual meeting due to copyright laws, as some of these posters are to be published in upcoming publications, and some are brand new research to be expanded upon in the future. Education Exhibits are available post-meeting forever. Science exhibits are available only through Tuesday, April 30th @ 4:00 p.m. CST. Visit http://www.rsna.org/Past_Meetings.aspx and click on Digital Posters for a past meeting year.
Layout for DPS 2018: Study Lounges
The DPS viewing area has been reimagined into 3 separate, smaller study lounges located in
different quadrants of the Learning Center, Hall D. Within these lounges, attendees can access
all the posters and presentations within DPS regardless of subspecialty.

Layout for DPS 2018: Diamond Shaped Subspecialty Communities
Additionally, attendees still have access to the Community areas (arranged in a diamond shaped pattern) which are outfitted with computers for viewing posters and exhibits specific to their subspecialty. For example, a cardiac radiologist may head straight to the Cardiac subspecialty community (CA, red) and immediately get viewing access to just the Cardiac presentations. He or she may also engage with Cardiac presenters and receive CME during the Lunchtime Presentations. Each subspecialty will retain the color scheme concept from previous years, which will be carried throughout the communities on header signs, graphic panels and overhead signage. Additional signage will be added to help attendees navigate the new layout. Carpet color on cross aisles will be different than in the subspecialty communities to provide pathways to aid navigation.
DPS Pod Computer Stations in Subspecialty Communities
The subspecialty community computer stations are configured into four-sided pod kiosks similar to the Case of the Day design. The goal of this configuration is to foster meaningful exchanges between presenters and attendees for lunchtime presentations. Each pod station will identified by a numbered placard.

Virtual Meeting Certificate of Attendance
Certificates of Attendance for the Virtual Meeting will be automatically emailed after an attendee
has participated in his / her first live virtual session and has completed the evaluation.
On-demand vs. Live Sessions
A live virtual session refers to a session that is happening in real time. (I.e. if the session begins at 2pm Central time zone, the attendee must watch the virtual session at 2pm CST). The attendee can interact with the presenter and other attendees via a live chat and will earn CME credit for having attended the session “live.”
“On-demand” is considered by the AMA as an “Enduring Materials, which requires
assessment of the learner by patient-management case studies, and / or application of
new concepts in response to simulated problems.”
o An on-demand virtual session refers to a session that has already taken place (i.e. yesterday at 2pm Central time zone). The attendee views the recorded session, if available.
CME Credit Available for All Live Sessions and 25 Specific On-demand Sessions
25 courses have been designated for CME credit when consumed on demand following the live session. These courses will be awarded 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ when viewed on demand through 4 PM CT on April 30, 2019, and upon successful completion of a test and course evaluation. This Enduring Material has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Lunch & Learns are educational functions presented by companies to RSNA attendees during the lunch hour of the meeting. Lunch & Learn sessions are not eligible for CME credit. These sessions are invitation-only and limited to 100 attendees. But if an attendee wants to go and doesn’t have an invite, direct them to the room and after invited attendees have taken a seat they will be allowed in.
Non-RSNA Satellite Symposiums
Non-RSNA Satellite Symposiums are educational sessions that take place off-site (not at McCormick Place) before or after meeting hours. Some Non-RSNA Satellite Symposiums offer CME, others do not. Satellite Symposiums are not promoted in the RSNA program.
Vendor Workshops
Vendor Workshops take place in the Technical Exhibit Halls A & B. These are hands-on workshops taught and equipped by exhibiting companies. Attendees have the opportunity to gain practical first-hand knowledge from experts in the field of radiology. CME credit is not available for these workshops.
MY EXHIBITORS
https://meeting.rsna.org/mymeeting/exhibitors/ This application is located under the My Meeting drop down in the Meeting Central navigation bar. Attendees must be logged in to access My Exhibitors. My Exhibitors is a listing of all technical exhibits that an attendee has added to their list, similar to a bookmark. Attendees login to Meeting Central and select the Add button next to an exhibitor in order to add it to their listing. They can then select My Exhibitors button or select My Exhibitors from the drop down under My Meeting to view their additions. Attendees can access the exhibitors’ links from the listing to view background information for that vendor / exhibitor and also their location with McCormick Place.

RSNA DIAGNOSIS LIVE TM
http://live.rsna.org
Background
RSNA Diagnosis LiveTM is RSNA’s very own interactive learning tool, developed in-house by the
IT team. 66 institutions currently use Diagnosis Live TM in their educational sessions. Diagnosis
LiveTM is a gamified, audience-response approach to studying radiological images and content.
Players answer questions on their mobile devices and receive immediate feedback from the
course presenter. Presenters have access to analytics of the players’ responses.
Types of Questions
There are three types of questions in RSNA Diagnosis Live TM:
Poll
o A multiple choice formatted question
o Counts for points
Touch
o Users select a location on an image as their answer by tapping their screen
o Counts for points
Survey
o Can be in a Poll or Touch question format
o Does not count for points; often an opinion question
Player’s View vs. Presenter’s View
The presenter uploads a presentation from PowerPoint or Keynote into Diagnosis LiveTM. The
presentation converts into the Diagnosis Live format. The presenter creates questions for the
presentation.
Players are invited to join the game. The presenter runs the game, displaying the “presenter’s
view,” typically on a large screen for the entire audience. Players view a mobile version of the
presentation and are able to answer questions using their mobile device.

Social Media Guidelines for Staff
We encourage staff to participate in social media for RSNA. Staff participation demonstrates
employee pride in the work of the organization and helps to spread the word to networks that we
do not ordinarily reach.
The same guidelines for in-person behavior apply to social media communications. A quick rule
of thumb: If you wouldn’t say something to (or in the presence of) an attendee in-person, you
shouldn’t say it on social media.

Eventbit – Beacon Technology
All badges are now equipped with beacon technology that eliminates the need for attendees to
to verify their attendance This simplifies the CME process and links the attendee to Meeting
Central for an enhanced meeting experience. Please note that although the badge also allows
RSNA to gather data to improve future meetings, RSNA will never share, rent or sell attendees
personally identifiable information. To opt out of this technology, any attendee should please
visit any registration location.
Additional Talking Points for Attendees
RSNA endeavors to gain intelligence about annual meeting attendees to better understand
participation patterns, make smarter decisions, minimize risks and identify opportunities. To
provide a highly personalized experience to each attendee, it is imperative to gather necessary
data to understand overall consumption of the annual meeting (e.g. Education, Scientific
Sessions, Technical Exhibits, Showcase Exhibits, Connections Center, etc.). To achieve this
goal, RSNA will implement behavioral tracking solution technology (Experient’s eventBit
solution) on all professional registrant badges at the 2018 Annual Meeting.
An eventBit beacon will be attached to every professional attendee badge during the regular registration process. A beacon chip is small, lightweight, battery-powered and transmits a unique signal to strategically placed readers. Optimal battery life is limited; all professional badges will be printed onsite.
Readers are placed throughout the event – session rooms, association services, exhibit halls and sponsored areas. They are battery-powered and easily deployed. Installation requires no physical access to venue infrastructure nor skilled labor.
A reader records each individual beacon within its configured proximity and transmits that data to a secure website where it is compiled and real-time accessible.
Attendees have been informed about eventBit in promotional messages before the meeting, via signage at badge pick-up locations and within the Meeting Guide.
To see additional information about GDPR and eventBit, please reference the What’s New document also located on the employee cog on meeting.rsna.org.

STAFF COMMUNICATION
Employee Emergency Text Messaging System
Keeping staff informed and prepared to provide excellent customer service remains a top priority as we prepare for RSNA 2018. To streamline and improve communications at this year’s annual meeting, we have evaluated several communication plans and have determined that utilizing the existing Emergency Alert Text System is the best solution for real-time communication. Email will be utilized for sharing more detailed information. Staff will receive one daily email from Mark Lichtenberger and up to approximately 12 text messages during the week of the meeting. Text messaging will be used to communicate critical, real-time information (safety concerns, widespread technology glitches, major housing/transportation changes, etc.). Daily emails will be used to provide additional information on any issues shared via text, provide a recap of any changes or updates from the previous day, and share kudos for staff going above-and-beyond. To provide the best customer service to members, all staff will be expected to check email daily and stay up-to-date with information being shared via text. Computers will be available throughout McCormick Place for staff to check email. If you have questions about staff communications or would like to opt out of the Emergency Alert Text System, contact Taylor Viering.
IMAGE WISELY
Image Wisely (ImageWisely.org) is an initiative of RSNA, ACR, AAPM and ASRT to raise awareness and provide educational resources for medical professionals on the use of ionizing radiation in adult medical imaging examinations. RADIOLOGYINFO.ORG
RadiologyInfo.org is an excellent patient education resource, and it’s one of the easiest and
simplest ways you can enhance the quantity and quality of information you provide. All you have
to do is share the URL with your referring physicians and patients. The website is continually
updated to ensure content is current and complete. You can confidently direct your referrers –
and their patients – to the site knowing that they can find easy-to-understand procedure
descriptions and patient-friendly videos.
Talking Points:
RadiologyInfo.org was recently updated using patient feedback; visits are up about 31%
Radiologists can educate referrers and their patients by using RadiologyInfo.org handouts and videos
Radiology practices can become Affiliates by linking their practice website to RadiologyInfo.org
Join an informal discussion about RadiologyInfo.org in the Discovery Theater (see online program for times). Practices are free to link to the RadiologyInfo.org home page or to a specific procedure page (i.e., Knee MRI). They do not need permission to do so. If they need assistance with this, they can contact Don Ferreira at [email protected]. Radiology Info also has an Affiliate Program in which links are exchanged. Affiliates get their logo and a link to their website on Radiology Info’s Affiliate Page at http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=about-affiliates. Doctors can find/download program information there as well as contact information for any questions.
RADIOLOGY CARES
The Radiology Cares Campaign (RadiologyCares.org) offers a number of practice resources such as the Model of Care – a modular guide to taking patient-centered radiology from concept to practice. Posters, letters and postcards are also available to download, customize and use to enhance your communication with patients. You can also upload your own examples to share with the radiology community.

If you’re unfamiliar with patient-centered care, try the Educational Toolkit – an index to resources on the web about the patient-centered movement. If you want to share the importance of practicing patient-centered radiology with your colleagues or community, try the customizable PowerPoint presentation decks. They include background facts, quotes, and even a case study. Talking Points:
Radiologists can use RadiologyCares.org Practice Resources (posters, letters, postcards) and/or RadiologyInfo.org Physician Resources (Exam requisition form, Radiation Dose Chart, fliers/posters) to provide more patient-centered care
Radiologists can show the impact of their patient-centered care by submitting patient thank-you notes and kudos for display in The Caring Quilt
