Common services offered by these posa-das

Airport assistance in Los Roques air strip and baggage handling.

Some packages offered in this presentation have been adjusted from the traditional ones offered by posadas in Los Roques. That way, international guests, who mostly book for long stays, can choose which islands they prefer to go each day when they are already at the posada (saving the ammount corresponding to nearby islands charged on the initial pack-age). Transfer prices go between $10 and $22 depending on the distance of the island from Gran Roque.

Clients also have the option to take dinner in different coffe-lounge-restaurants located in Gran Roque if they choose the half board package; and of course, they can also arrange dinner at the Posada paying just the price for that dinner.

Lunch is mainly a light cold meal that guests can take at the beach, posadas usually prepare for lunch sandwhiches, cold salad pasta, spanish tortilla, and so on.

Depending on the arrival and departure times to Los Roques, clients may have an extra day which includes (besides late check out): 1 lunch to go to the beach with the transfer by boat [to nearby islands francisqui and madris-qui] and umbrellas, chairs, cooler and soft drinks. Prices are specified on each posada’s specs under “extra day” item in “packages notes”.

Servicios comunes ofrecidos por estas posadas

¿Why do we also offer Half Board package includ- ing breakfast and lunch and not dinner, as usually?

Because, after taking their breakfast, guests take their trip to the islands, all of them spend most of the time on the islands and return at the end of the day to go back to the posada and then take dinner.

On the islands or “cayos” there are no facillities, only two or three of them has small and simple restaurants. So, islands are only beautiful beach water and white sand, there are no places to buy snacks, water, or even shadow to protect from the sun. That’s why one of the most important things in Los Roques is that cooler with ice, water, lunch and snacks that posadas prepare to their guests and also the umbrella that is included with the transfer.

Besides that, at night, in Gran Roque, where the posadas are located, there are about 4 or 6 coffe-lounge-restaurants and also they can choose to take dinner at the posada arranging it when they are already there.

Check in y check out: Check in is usually at 2 or 4 pm and check out is usually at 12 m. But for guests arriving early in the morning, if the room is available, posadas usually give the room to the guest as soon as they arrive, if the room is not available, the posadas arrange a space where guests can change clothes and leave their suitcases, to then go to the beach and when they return from the beach the posada will deliver the room to the guest.

About rates, packages and commisions

Tariff corresponding to long stays doesn’t include transfer to nearby islands as regularly offered by posadas and this tariff is only for more of 4 nights of accommodation.

Packages prices are for double or triple occu-pancy (more than one person per room). Each posada specifies the surcharge corre-sponding to single occupancy (only one person per room).

Rates have been updated for 2011, but posadas remain the right to change them if neces- sary, mainly if inflation rates for Venezuela’s economy are too high.

If a guest cancells his trip, posadas usually retain the ammount paid if it is done less than 7 days before the arrival. If it is has been reported with more than 7 days in advanced, some posadas return something of what has been already paid, some give the guest the option to change it for another date but don’t return money.

About the payment: if it is done by PayPal we’ll send you an email through PayPal to make the payment [this will have a charge of 3%, corresponding to paypal's commision]. And for wiretransfer, you can make it to our US bank account [HSBC], wire transfer commision will need to be paid by you.

¿What is not included?

• The airport tax is Bs. 38 per person.

• Entrance fee to Parque Nacional Los Roques Bs. 152 for foreigners.

• Breakfast on the first day is not included: only Pelicano offers breakfast if the arrival is early in the morning (before 9:00 am)

• Transfers to the islands, but they can be arranged at the posada.
