South Weald ParkWe chose South Weald Park as a location as we all believed it could be used to our advantage to create a well suspended thriller, fitting the expectation of the audience.

The vastness of the location suggests vulnerability and keeps the audience on edge. Wide open spaces disables the audience to detect danger, feeling helpless.

The trees with no leaves went well with the codes and conventions of a thriller that we were aiming for. The lifeless trees provide a dark persona holding a deeper meaning for the audience.

We planned the day to correspond with the whether to give us the best possible quality, visually for the audience. A very dull day covering the sky in clouds set a good scene and surrounding for our thriller.

South Weald ParkWe know this park is popular within the public so we decided to go early in the morning to avoid continuity within our shots to eliminate the need for re-filming.

The isolation of the location helps reinforce the narrative of our thriller of our character being lost and disorientated.

This location was very easily accessible by every group member as we lived fairly close to one another. The sharing of lifts enabled us to get to our location all together and begin filming straight away.

Areas of the location consisted of different heights including hills, this allowed us to get a good range of different heights and angles of shots. Having establishing shots to high angled shots.
