Despite the many handicaps un der which the merchants and cham bers of commerce have labored In getting together their exhibits, this spirit of helpful assistance has enabled everyone to complete his or her display for'the opening day.

Rutter, who has had many years' service in governmental depart ments, will be in a position to as sume responsible executive work, by j reason of his long experience in actual field conditions.
It is not known who will take Dolley's place here, but it was stated that it would be somi out side man who is familiar v/lih the liquor conditions of Southern Cali fornia.

Reports that the Navy Depart ment will not cause the removal of the submarine base from Los! Angeles Harbor to San Diego, have been confirmed by the receipt o' telegrams from Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roosevelt to Congress man Lineberger.
Major Lineberger was informed that the removal orders issued to Capt W. R. Miller at the base sev eral weeks ago have been officially rescinded and that the base will! remain at its present location.
Assistant Secretary Roosevelt'? telegram was as follows: "Depart ment canceled order directing com mauding officer of -the submarine base to submit plans for removal base from Los Angeles to San Diego. Base will remain at Los Angeles."
