Local Missionsopportunities

2

This booklet contains many opportunities for you, your family, and/or your Connect group to “seek the welfare of the city” by engaging in God’s mission in the Bowling Green area. Please use this booklet as a tool for both service and prayer.

We ask that you prayerfully read through these options and consider a specific partner (organization, group) whom you can serve. In obedience to Jesus’ command to go and make disciples, we believe that you will have the opportunity to impact lives for the gospel with any one of these partners. As God leads you in the decision making process, we ask that you commit to your partners by praying for them, serving with them, and providing regular words of encouragement to them.

It is the desire of the missions department to help you be on mission in our city. Your life and Christ’s love shown through you can and will make a difference. Please let us know which partner you have chosen and how we can come along with you as you pray, serve, and encourage.

Jesus said to the early church, “. . . But you will

receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and

you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea

and Samaria and to the ends to the earth.”

acts 1:8

The Lord said through Jeremiah, “... But seek

the welfare of the city where I have sent

you into exile, and pray to the Lord

on its behalf, for in its welfare

you will find your welfare.”jeremiah 29:7

“The Great Commission isn’t a nice

suggestion that Jesus gives to his

followers. It’s a command. He doesn’t say,

‘Go when you’re ready. Go when your kids

are grown or when you retire. Go when life

slows down.’ He simply commands

us to go. So hurry up and go”Laura
