• Web 2.0 = shift in thinking + technology• For learning, both added value & new value• Alignment with Informal Learning &
Knowledge Management?
Strategy
• Opportunities to adopt already exist• User expectations set by out-of-work
experience• Focus areas – knowledge networks, on-
demand learning, “functional” communities, on-the-job learning, …
• Must have value for learning, not just collaboration!
Adoption
• LMS capability is still relevant, but focus changes
• 2.0 is on the LMS Vendors roadmap• Ultimately owned by IT; LMS Vendor tools
may be good for adding value to current offering, but also think about integrating with the Enterprise 2.0 tools

• Web 2.0 thinking and technologies will impact internal corporate systems and processes, – Has a significant potential for enhancing learning and
learning processes
• The LMS is still relevant but has to adapt– Still a need to track and report– Want more effective integration between new and old
learning approaches – Need to channel “learning” into “network” as well as
the other way around– Will need to integrate with enterprise-wide 2.0
platforms as they emerge
