Esa es la rutina que sucede día a día en este pequeño local rodeado de em-blemáticos del barrio, como la gran plancha de lomitos de la Picá de Jaime.Lai Thai nace de la idea de poner un restaurant Thai asequible. El lugar elegido fue el persa Bío Bío, que con sus galpones llenos de antigüedades y baratijas no suponían ser la locación ideal para una apuesta gastronómica tan segregada.El resultado fue una gran sorpresa. La gente llena el local esperando probar la que ha sido calificada como una de las mejores comidas Thai de todo Santiago. Y eso es por ambos cocineros tailandeses a cargo de los wok, que hacen las preparaciones con mano auténtica y bajo el ojo de Cristóbal Cox, dueño y ejecutor del proyecto.

Graduada del Taller de Danza del Teatro General San Martín y creadora de la Compañía de Danza Garat Beamonte, viene a nuestro país a mostrar “Jujuy”, obra que presentará en el Primer Festival de Internacional de Danza Contemporánea Escena 1 (del 14 al 24 de julio). Entrevistamos a Garat desde Buenos Aires y nos dimos cuenta de su talento y de su gran aporte a la danza. Para girar una y otra vez.

Específicamente, ¿qué podremos ver en “Jujuy”?En “Jujuy” se puede ver a dos seres que buscan diferentes maneras de vincularse. Logran hacerlo a través de un lenguaje de movimientos muy entreverados, pero donde solamente ellos se entienden. Ellos encuentran el equilibrio en la inestabilidad y la comodidad en esta incomodidad. Se puede ver por momentos que ellos son como una sola persona, y a veces se puede ver una relación entre dos. Para mí, la obra tiene cierto tono de nostalgia y melancolía.

En este montaje uno de los ele-mentos más llamativos, además de los movimientos, son el vestuario y la música, ¿cómo trabajaste estos aspectos?El vestuario fue pensado de manera de que cada intérprete pueda jugar tanto el rol de mujer como de hombre. Asimismo, nos permite pensar en que estos personajes pueden ser una misma persona o dos seres.La creación de la música fue muy fiel a los estados de ánimo que para mi cada escena refleja.

¿qué diferencias artísticas existen entre “El hombre que Camina” y “Jujuy”?El “Hombre que Camina” fue una gran producción que contaba con 28 bailarines a diferencia de “Jujuy” donde se trata de un dúo. En esa época yo tenía la necesidad, tal vez, de justificar todo lo que hacía. En cambio en “Jujuy”, adopté una posición un poco más desprejuiciada al respecto.

luego de años de carrera, ¿qué ha significado haberte formado en el Teatro General San Martín?Significó una sólida formación ar-tística y no solamente en el aspecto técnico. Con el tiempo pude optar por una línea diferente de trabajo en relación al estilo propuesto por esta institución.

¿Cómo asumes la dirección en relación a los diversos actores y elementos que conforman una obra de danza contemporánea?Al asumir la dirección de una obra suelo compartir mis objetivos e ideas, como también mis dudas, lo que per-mite a los intérpretes participar en la creación del lenguaje y la estructura de la obra. Me interesa generar un clima de respeto y distensión a la vez.

Garat Beamonte se formó en londres y ya tiene 11 años, ¿qué ha necesitado para mantenerse en el tiempo con este excelente nivel?Considero que ha sido necesaria una gran afinidad tanto en lo humano como en lo profesional. Con Pilar (Beamonte) tenemos una afinidad artística. Compartimos cierto humor y conceptos acerca de las cosas. Por otro lado, no nos presionamos a producir y crear una obra tras otra. Esperamos a que surja realmente la necesidad de decir y transmitir algo.

¿De qué forma cuidas tu figura?Mi secreto es el deporte. Practico Yoga y surf. Además me gusta mucho el atletismo, aunque no lo práctico profesionalmente. También he hecho trapecio y en Buenos Aires hice contorsionísmo. En fin, mi vida está hecha con la expresión del cuerpo. Tengo una vida basada en el deporte.

¿Cuál es la importancia que tiene la indumentaria deportiva en el momento de hacer un deporte? Vital. Debe ser cómoda y de cos-turas delicadas o sin costuras. De hecho he conocido casos que por no vestir de la forma adecuada para un deporte han llegado lesiones fuertes. Si bien el deporte es algo sano, hay que tomar los resguardos necesarios para que todo salga bien, y en eso la tenida es esencial para las pretensiones.

Es muy completo…Sí. Además se organizarán sesiones con cursos de escuela, se analizará la eficacia de los lenguajes visua-les utilizados en los documentos expuestos, cuya proveniencia será variada: enciclopédias, libros de medicina, manuales escolares, etc.Se tomará en cuenta todos estos criterios colectivos, que de alguna manera representan el sentido común en el momento de elaborar las con-clusiones que tomarán la forma de un documento final.

¿Cómo fueron tus inicios en el teatro?Nunca he tenido muy claro porque elegí esta profesión, probablemente es porque nunca me fue muy bien en el colegio y era como lo que me pareció más fácil. Parece que en el camino se fueron dando las cosas.

¿un buen actor nace o se hace?Creo que un buen actor se hace. Depende mucho de los trabajos que vaya haciendo y de con quien le vaya tocando trabajar. Es difícil decir este actor es la raja si ha hecho sólo una película por ejemplo. Sin duda es una profesión donde los años van sumando para bien o mal. Eres reconocido como uno de los mejores actores de Chile, ¿dónde crees que está la clave, en la ca-pacidad de elegir buenos papeles, o en la forma que los interpretas?Francamente no tengo idea donde está la clave, lo único que sé es que siempre he tratado de pasarlo bien trabajando y lo he logrado en la ma-yoría de los casos. Probablemente la gente cacha que uno lo pasa bien y eso debe influir en la opinión que se forma el público de uno como actor.

how did you start in theatre?I’ve never been so clear on why I chose this career, probably because I was never so good at school, and it seemed to me it was the easiest. It seems that things turned out with the years.

a good actor , is he born or does he become?I think a good actor becomes. ¿qué formato sientes que te aco-moda más? La televisión de todas maneras. Me parece el formato menos rígido por la inmediatez. Además el paso que viene directamente ligado a la producción televisiva es generar contenidos para Internet y creo que ahí la cosa se va a poner buena.

¿Cómo se concretó tu participación en humanimal?Me llamó Francesc Morales y me contó el proyecto. Él me pareció una persona muy agradable lo que para mí es fundamental al momento de optar por un trabajo. Nunca leí el guión ni nada y la intuición no falló. Hacer la película fue un agrado y ob-viamente espero seguir trabajando con Francesc en sus próximas películas.

¿Cuál es tu personaje en la película y cómo lo afrontaste?Mi personaje es la tortuga, quien vive en un mundo bastante oscuro y violento rodeado de otros animales. El personaje lo afronté de una forma bastante simple. Le hice caso a las indicaciones del director ya que era el único que tenía clara la historia.

¿Cuánto duró el proceso de gra-bación de la película?En total como un año, ya que se filmaba los fines de semana por ser un trabajo de ultra bajo presupuesto.

¿En qué estas ahora y qué planes tienes a futuro?Ahora en la teleserie nocturna de C13 “Peleles”, de notero en CQC y para el futuro… juego kino todos los domingos.

What format do you prefer? Absolutely T.V. It’s seems to me the less strict because of immediacy. Also, the next step directly linked to T.V. production is creating contents for Internet and I believe that things will be great.

how was the agreement of your part in humanimal?Francesc Morales called me and told me about the project. He seems to me a very nice person , which is essential when choosing a job. I never read the screenplay and intuition didn’t fail. To make the movie was so pleasant, and obviously I hope keep on working with Francesc in his other movies.

What is your character and how did you face him?My character is the turtle, who lives in a very violent and dark world su-rrounded by other animals.I faced the character in a very simple way . I listened to director’s instructions, who was the only with the story clear.

how long took the recording of the movie?Like a year , because it was a very low budget work , it was filmed on weekends.

What are you doing now ,and what are your plans?Now in night soap opera of C13 “Peleles”, CQC reporter and for the future…I play kino every sunday.

¿Cuándo explotó en ti esa nece-sidad de hacer de la actuación tu carrera? Cuando vi la obra “Bodas de Sangre” de Federico García Lorca. En ese momento me convencí de lo que quería en mi vida. Después vino la lucha con mis padres. Ellos no querían que estudiara Teatro, así que entré a estudiar Periodismo 2 años, pensando encontrar esa inquietud que tenía en la carrera, pero finalmente me cambié a Teatro.

¿qué es para ti un buen actor?Un buen actor es alguien sumamente apasionado por lo que hace, casi patológicamente obsesivo por su trabajo, ingrediente principal que hace a alguien grande.

¿Cómo vez el nivel de la actuación en Chile?He visto un nivel bastante bueno en las nuevas generaciones. Hay muchos jóvenes chilenos talentosos que recorren el mundo de festival en festival. Creo que ellos son más aperreados con lo que sienten.

When did this need to make your career performance explode in you? When I saw the play “Bodas de Sangre “by Federico García Lorca. At that time I became convinced of what I wanted in my life. ¿Cuál es tu “Why not”?La Natación. Siento un amor dema-siado intenso por el agua, tan así que voy a clases todas las semanas. Tengo un profesor que me enseña muchas técnicas de nado y eso hace que uno ame mucho más este deporte. El agua es un espacio que me da calma, al igual que el ballet y el canto, pero estas dos últimas disciplinas las tomo más como un complemento de lo que hago en la actuación. Sin duda la Natación me da paz y me gusta mucho.

¿En qué estás actualmente?Estoy con una trilogía de la compañía de teatro “La Frenética María Lolita”. La primera obra se llama “Trash”, la segunda “Last Night” y la tercera “Loop”, así que los invito a todos a ver estas obras desde el 6 de Julio en la sala Jorge Días de la Universidad “Finis Terrae”.

What is your “Why not”? Swimming. I feel a love too intense for water, so intense that I go to classes every week. I have a teacher who teaches me many techniques of swimming and that makes me love more this sport. Sin embargo, cuando termina el verano y las temperaturas comienzan a bajar en Santiago, cada semana se hace más difícil encontrar lugares que lo permitan sin congelarse los dedos.

La región Metropolitana y sus alrede-dores presentan un enorme potencial para practicar la escalada deportiva. Basta con asomarse por la ventana para ver la hermosa cordillera que nos cobija e imaginarse la enorme cantidad de roca que de ella emerge.Los sectores más concurridos para la práctica de este deporte se en-cuentran a las afueras de Santiago, principalmente en la zona del Cajón del Maipo. Sin embargo, a medida que nos acercamos a Los Andes, el frío invernal amilana la motivación.Es por eso que durante el invierno los escaladores privilegian aquellos lugares que se mantienen secos y en los que las temperaturas se mantienen más o menos agradables para pasar varias horas a la intemperie, probando una y otra vez ese movimiento que los aleja del fin de la ruta.

las ChilcasEn la Ruta 5 Norte, cerca del kilómetro 75, se encuentra la Cuesta de Las Chilcas. El sector es súper fácil de identificar, ya que son características las grandes rocas que parecen caer sobre la carretera. Esas mismas rocas son las que dan vida a uno de los sectores de escalada deportiva con mayor desarrollo en el país. Sus primeras rutas datan de me-diados de los 90`s y hoy son más de 100, entre las que se encuentran unas muy fáciles (5.9) y otras ca-talogadas como las más difíciles de Chile (5.14). Además, podemos encontrar rutas cortas que exigen potencia y otras muy largas, sobre las que puedes pasar varias horas antes de alcanzar la cima.

En invierno está es su virtud, ya que si nos sorprende una lluvia repentina podemos volver a casa sin inconvenientes.El Arrayán y Las Chilcas son zonas que permiten disfrutar del deporte y la naturaleza durante el invierno sin alejarse mucho de la ciudad. La escalada es un deporte que exige ciertas destrezas físicas pero sobre todo pone a prueba la mente. Es por eso que antes de exponerse a lo desconocido, quienes quieran probar deben informarse sobre el equipo necesario y los riesgos asociados.Las Chilcas es el destino invernal por excelencia. Sus agradables tempera-turas y la ausencia de muchos días lluviosos consecutivos lo convierten en el lugar favorito de los escaladores para entrenar grados de dificultad y preparar su cuerpo para la tempo-rada de verano.También es común encontrar grupos de escaladores principiantes dando sus primeros pasos en las rutas escuela que han visto desarrollarse ya a un par de ge-neraciones de escaladores chilenos.

El ArrayánEn el sector oriente de la capital la escalada encuentra un pequeño santuario en el sector de El Arrayán. Para llegar se debe tomar el camino que conduce al Santuario de la Naturaleza y buscar una entrada de rejas a unos 100 mts después de que termina el pavimento.

¿Ven la posibilidad de estar en unos Juegos olímpicos de invierno?Los Juegos Olímpicos son el sueño de todo deportista. En nuestro caso las olimpiadas son el año 2014 en Sochi, Rusia. El trabajo que estamos haciendo con la federación es con miras a eso.
