    Introduction to Sponsorship SeminarMonday 18 November 2013 1.00pm - 5.00pmThe Bluecoat, School Lane, Liverpool L1 3BX

    The half day seminar provides an overview of sponsorship and ways of working withbusiness. It is suitable for fundraisers new to sponsorship or wishing to brush up theirknowledge as well as staff and board members from arts organisations or museumslooking to diversify their funding or artists interested in making links with the corporatesector. The Sponsorship Seminar is designed not only to raise understanding of artssponsorship, but also to give practical guidance on how to secure it.

    The session is interactive with questions welcomed and opportunities to share learningacross the group. There will be exercises to put learning into practice and every delegatereceives a workbook to be filled in during the session to help build a strategy for engagingwith business after the session.

    The session is presented by Adam Lopardo and Ellie Turner of The Sponsors Club, part ofthe Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland based in Newcastle uponTyne, who have a wealth of experience in fundraising, strategy development, privateinvestment, philanthropy and sponsorship.

    Culture Liverpools Fit for the Future Programme is supporting this seminar for arts

    organisations and artists based on Merseyside. Culture Liverpool hopes this training willhelp participants to develop their understanding of sponsorship and grow income from thecorporate sector.

    What sponsorship is and examples of how businesses engage with the arts

    Why businesses partner with the arts and cultural sector and how they use thosepartnerships

    Obtaining and developing sponsorship

    Assessing your project/organisation and its needs

    Developing packages for sponsorship Researching and selecting potential partners

    Making a successful approach

    Writing a proposal - including pricing it

    Developing good sponsor care

    Dealing with No
