Let’s learn something about the Apostles of Jesus Christ.

Do we actually know their names? Who were they?

Parish YOUTH – Do you know the answer to this question?

Name the Apostle who is mentioned the most times in the New Testament;

___________________________ Tell Father Bill your answer.

The Apostle St. Peter is granted the title “The Prince of the Apostles” to whom

Jesus said; “I will give you the Keys of the Kingdom of heaven.”

All our religious art will show the Apostle St. Peter holding a set of keys. They

belong to the heavenly gates. These keys represent his authority to teach and

to lead the faithful to their final home in heaven with God.

Then He gave Peter and the disciples the power and authority to forgive

(bind) or not forgive (loose) sin.

St. Peter, of all the 12, was the first to recognize that Jesus was the Messiah.

Professing that he was unworthy even to be martyred like Christ, he was

crucified upside down.

+ + + + + + + + + + + +

As we learn about the Apostles of Our Lord Jesus may we want to know more

about them and may we grow to love as they loved and live our Christian life

the way they did which may include giving our very life for the Lord if we have

to.
