Lithuania – China Business Council

• Founded in January 2014

• Creation of the Council generated rather big interest: more than 30 companies participated at the founding meeting

• the Council is growing: new members are joining

Lithuania – China Business Council

• the Council is established in accordance with the practice of similar Councils under the auspices of LPK and other EU countries’ Business Councils with China

• the main task is development and promotion of business relations between Lithuania and China

• its activities is supported by the Government of Lithuania, Embassy of P.R. of China in Vilnius and Lithuanian Embassy in Beijing

• the Council providing practical services to its members – Lithuanian and Chinese companies

Activities of the Council in 2014

• The Budget of the Council is formed, parmanent staff members started their work in September 2014

• More potential members are informed about the Council in China and Lithuania

• Dynamic cooperation is going on with the Embassy of Lithuanian in Beijing and the office of Economic and Trade counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Vilnius

• the web-site of the Council is launched www.lt-cn.org

• Established contacts with different companies and organizations in China

• The Business Mission is organized to Ningbo together with Minister of Economy Mr. Evaldas Gustas

• 4 Business delegations from China received: from cities Tianjin, Ningbo and Hangzhou and Xinjiang region

• Seminar on business opportunities in China and Hong Kong in coopeartion with Enterprise Lithunia

• Visit of Chinese Ambassador to the city Alytus and company Alita

Activities of the Council are presented to the general public and business community, members are participating in different meetings and conferences:

- Interviews about the Council for China Daily and Xinhua. Special introduction on Info TV (LT)

- April – May, 2014 series of meetings in China with different companies and organisations

- 28-29 August, 2014 participation in China Investment

- 25-27 July, 2014 participation in international conference – Forum on Silk Road Economic Zone and Global Times Leader Roundtable

• February 5, 2015 Seminar on practical aspects of exports to China in Vilnius

• June 2015, visit of CEOs of biggest Chinese companies from different sectors to Lithuania

• November 2015 participation of Chinese companies in different trade fairs and business meetings

• September 2015, Business mission of Lithuanian companies to China

• initiation of the Project of Lithuanian products boutiques in China

Council can offer concrete and practical services for its members

• information about Chinese or Lithuanian market and investment possibilities

• help to find potential business partners

• organization of specific business missions

• help to establish direct contacts with Government and other authorities

• use of its premises for organization of business meetings in Vilnius

• free participation of members in different seminars and conferences organized by the Council

Sectors for Chinese investments in Lithuania

• Bigger scale state and private projects in public and transport infrastructure, real estate, PPP projects

• Investments to existing companies: acquisitions of companies, shares, creation of joint stock companies

• Investments to production for exports to China and other big markets (EU and USA, Canada) using the procedure of temporary imports (inward processing)
