A HUGE thank you to everyone for your overwhelming generosity and kindness during our donaon drive for Backpacks for Homeless Youth, in partnership with Mindful Queer Collecve and Lithgow's own LGBT+ Teen Group. Our goal was to complete three backpacks. With all of the donaons we received, we were able to put together EIGHT FULL BACKPACKS and there are enough supplies to get a running start on many more. All of your donaons will go toward helping teens in crisis. Thank you all so much for support for this worthy cause. Barks and Books

Thursday, Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m.

Barks and Books is a reader dog

program for readers ages 6 and up. Each

child will have 15 minutes to read aloud to

the dogs from a book of their choice (bring

your own or use one of ours). The dogs are

trained, volunteer therapy dogs from the

Kennebec Chapter of Love on a Leash who love being read to.

This program runs through May. There are

limited time slots per program, so we

encourage you to sign up ahead of time.

FIRST LEGO League gives elementary and middle school students and their adult

coaches the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common problem.

Challenged to research a real-world problem, then create an original solution for that

problem, plus design and build a robot using a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® kit within a common

set of rules to accomplish “missions” on a playing field, brings out the best in students and adults alike. The theme changes each

season, requiring teams to be extraordinarily creative. This free program is open to kids

ages 8-14. Meetings will be held in the library's Community Meeting Room.

Meeting Dates: Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m.
