More than a half-million students and young adults help improve their communities through Rotary

programs. Pankaj Jethwani of India led his Rotaract club in providing vision screenings

and comprehensive eye care to thousands of schoolchildren in poor neighborhoods.

Thank you Chester, Bryan, Kellie, and Cara for passing out dictionaries for

the Ka ‘Umeke Dictionary Project yesterday.

YWCA 6th Annual Remarkable Persons Luncheon on Wednesday, April 9

from 11:30—1:30 pm at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Moku ‘Ola Room, honoring

Sharon Scheele and Audrey Wilson. Please sign up for one of the group

tables. Cost: $50 per person. Please support RCHB’s PP Sharon Scheele!

RCHB Board Meeting tomorrow morning, 7 am at Coqui’s Hideaway. All

members welcome!

Waiakeawaena Keiiki Dictionary Project– Thursday, March 13 at 8:15 am.

We are looking for 7 more volunteers! If you can make it but haven’t

signed up, please meet us at the office.

Hilo Union Rainbow Pride/High Flyer Awards on Thursday and Friday,

March 13 and 14– 1:30 pm at Hilo Union Cafeteria We need two

volunteers for Friday!

Richard Cunningham– Please feel free to continue donating to HRYF and

improve your chances of winning the custom-made koa box. Thank you

to all the Rotarians who donated to HRYF. As of today, 27 Rotarians have

donated $3555. The drawing will be held next week. The HRYF nominee

will also be at next week’s meeting.

David Hurd– Please support South Hilo’s Hilo Huli on Saturday, May 3 at

Coconut Island. It’s going to be a lot of fun and there will be great food.

Mark Yamanaka will be singing. More info to come in the next

newsletter.

Kathleen McGilvray– The YWCA will be having its 6th Annual Remarkable

Persons Luncheon, featuring two outstanding Rotarians, Sharon Scheele

and Audrey Wilson on April 9th, Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Moku ‘Ola Room.

11:30 am — 1:30 pm. Individual tickets for the event are $50. Please

contact your Club President, Cedric if you have any questions.
