Editor: Stacey Thomas
I am the publisher for all The Works magazines and I am now looking to submit some interesting articles, which I hope, will complement our already popular magazine.
I live in Gloucester with my baby daughter, husband and cocker spaniel. I enjoy walking, gardening and anything that makes me laugh!
For future issues I will be looking for local topics, your opinions (good or bad!), stories & people of interest so any suggestions would be most welcomed - please email [email protected].
As a community magazine we are always trying to extend our links with local businesses and believe that our low budget advertising offers could be the answer to promoting your business during the current “credit crunch” climate.

Look Like Lemurs There is a great opportunity for kids to "Look Like Lemurs" at West Midland Safari Park. With a variety of specially written talks and activities scheduled for the next three weeks, "Walking with Lemurs" is the place to be. Keepers at the exhibit will carry out the ten-minute talks whilst they feed the Lemurs at 1.00pm and 2.30pm. The talks are designed to introduce the Park's latest arrivals, dish the dirt on this mischievious new troop and share a tale or two about their quirky behaviour. Bob Lawrence, Director of Wildlife, said, "The most familiar of all Lemur species is the Ring Tailed for their striking features, pretty face and long ringed tail. They are highly sociable, preferring to spend more time on the ground than in the tree canopy and are avid sunbathers. Therefore in the Ring Tailed Lemur world it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to learn that unlike some Lemur species, the Ring Tailed have dominant females. It is clearly obvious with our new arrivals that the lady is boss". The Lemur theme continues in the Park's Discovery Room where extra activities have been specifically organized to coincide with the opening of the new exhibit and include Lemur Mask Making and Learn to "Look like Lemurs" Face Painting sessions. West Midland Safari and Leisure Park is open daily, including Bank Holidays, up to Friday 4th November 2011. "Walking with Lemurs" is included as part of the standard admission charge of £13.99 for adults, £11.99 for children. A family saver ticket costs £46.76, which admits two adults and two children and offers a 10% saving on standard admission prices. Admission prices also include a free return ticket. Amusement rides are charged extra in all cases. Further information is available from the Park's official website www.wmsp.co.uk or by telephone 01299 402114.
