We asked for cloth face coverings for our homemaker members in the Philippines to distribute in their communies. We were able to provide them with about 200 cloth face coverings. Thanks to everyone who made those and donated them to our members and others in their communies! This is truly an internaonal project, providing much needed assistance to others. I feel so fortunate to work with such an awesome group of leaders. All of you are truly great leaders who are making a posive difference in your world. While we may think we are not doing much, we really are doing a lot. Just a kind note, phone call, text, or Zoom call makes a big difference. Reach out to others and let them know how important they are. Take me to create memories with family and friends. We are living in crazy mes now and everything is very different, but we can sll show others we care. I am confident that being Extension Homemaker members, each of you are doing just that. I am honored to serve as your advisor and to work with you. Stay safe and take care of each other. If I can be of assistance to you, please let me know. Sincerely, Rita Stewart County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences

Hi everyone:

Thanks so much for all that you are doing for yourself, your communities, and your world. We asked for cloth face coverings for our homemaker members in the Philippines to distribute in their communities. We were able to provide them with about 200 cloth face coverings. Thanks to everyone who made those and donated them to our members and others in their communities! This is truly an international project, providing much needed assistance to others.

I feel so fortunate to work with such an awesome group of leaders. All of you are truly great leaders who are making a positive difference in your world. While we may think we are not doing much, we really are doing a lot. Just a kind note, phone call, text, or Zoom call makes a big difference. Reach out to others and let them know how important they are. Take time to create memories with family and friends. We are living in crazy times now and everything is very different, but we can still show others we care. I am confident that being Extension Homemaker members, each of you are doing just that. I am honored to serve as your advisor and to work with you. Stay safe and take care of each other. If I can be of assistance to you, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Rita Stewart

County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences

Office Update: We are working with the Lincoln County Health Department and UK

to best find a plan that protects our clientele and staff. We are closely following all safety

guidelines. Our office is open regular business hours Monday – Friday. All Extension

Agents and staff will be working in the office starting September 8th. Appointments are

preferred. We will allow one person to be inside the reception area and one additional

person to be visiting with an agent/assistant. Clients will still need to call and let us know

that they are outside and need assistance. Virtual programming via Zoom and Facebook

Live is still preferred. Until we fully discuss guidelines with the Health Department, we

are not scheduling in person meetings at the office. In order to come into our office,

clients must have a cloth face covering and maintain social distancing. No exceptions!

We are always happy to see you, but we want to do it safely. We will continue to use the

pick-up/drop off system outside the front door. If you have questions or concerns, please

let me know. Agents are still available via email and cell phone if needed.

Club Presidents should collect a $10 check for membership dues by September 30

from all members. Members can mail or drop off their checks to the club presidents.

All members should complete and attach their enrollment form with the check. Have

members make their check payable to Lincoln County Homemakers. Make a list of all

members who have given you a check. Put all the checks in one envelope. Put a copy

of the membership list in with the checks (and you keep a copy too) and mail to

Kathy Diaz by September 30, 2020. (If you need Kathy’s address, please let us know

at the Extension Office. Her address can be found in your membership calendar book

from last year.)

To encourage membership, please feel free to call or write a note to past and current

members. Invite them to join.

A special monthly program via Zoom is being planned for paid Lincoln

County Homemaker members. This special program will start in October and

will feature some type of project/food that you can create along with the presenter. In the newsletter, members will receive a supply list and a Zoom registration link for that month’s project. This should be really fun and super creative! Remember,

this program is only open to paid Lincoln County Extension Homemaker members. Invite your friends and get your club president or Kathy Diaz your membership dues before September 30. Just another great reason to join the Lincoln County Extension

Homemakers Association. This program applies to club and county-at-large (mailbox) members.
