To delete an entire clip from the timeline, you can simply click on the right-click on the clip and select “CUT.” This leaves a gap where you deleted.

To delete an entire clip and shift the remaining clips over, right click and slect “RIPPLE EDIT.”

You can also delete portions of clips. Do this in the PROGRAM WINDOW. First, set the in and out points of the portion you want to delete.

You can see the in and out points identified on the timeline. This is the portion you’re going to delete.

To delete this portion and leave a gap, click on the “LIFT” button in the PROGRAM panel.

The “LIFT” tool leaves a space or gap where you deleted.

To delete this portion shift other clips over, click on the “EXTRACT” button in the PROGRAM panel.

Notice that the In and Out Points are also removed from the timeline, and the remaining clips have shifted to the right to fill the gap .
