People below poverty line: about 260 million by 2004.

According to the census of India, there were 750307 Beggars and vagrants in India in 1981.

Declined to 542875 in 1991,though it further increased To 627688 in 2001.

Street Childrens

STREET CHILDREN

Most children on the streets are between the ages of about 5 and 17 years old.

There are an estimated 100 million children Living in the streets in the world today.

India is home to the world’s largest population of street children, estimated at 57 million.

STREET SINGERS

Survival is tenuious and incomes are uncertain, as villagers look to other means of entertainment.

STREET VENDORS

Our street vendors, all 10 million or more of them, are part of the colour of India.

Millions of street vendors in India are without any rights and treated as a nuisance.

STREET DANCERS

Street performance is a family affair.Sons and

daughters learn the trade from techniques

handed down from generation to generation.

STREET COBBLER

Streetside Cobblers are an ubiquitous sight in India.

They will buy raw materials for them and had hand-stitched them.
