We have already learned several ways to make the /ā/ sound.( a-magic e – as in cake,ai- as in mail, and ay- as in play.)

Now we will learn two other ways to spell it, a way that has four letters- eigh and two letters- ei.

You could simply say...

Or you could say... She cried a river.
