FOCUS: Students learn to follow instruction to make chocolate crackles. Indicators: TS2.1- Describes people, place, and things in detail. - Participates in class discussions on a variety of topics. - Follows direction COS2.1- Shares ideas, feelings and opinions with others about issues INS2.3- Helps others to achieve set tasks. - Develops friendships and support networks with a range of people. Teaching and Learning Actions Content Preparatio n Tim e 10 min s Orientation Explain to students the process of making chocolate crackles. Clean tables and hands and collect equipment needed. Place ingredients on tables. EQUIPMENT: spoon, patty cake cases and large mixing bowl. INGREDIENTS: 4 cups rice bubbles, 1 ½ cups icing sugar, 250g copha chopped and 3 tbsp cocoa. Extra ingredients optional: marshmallows, sprinkles, soft lollies. Access to microwave and fridge. Serves 24. ModelledDemonstrate making chocolate crackles with students following the steps. STEPS: 1) In a large mixing bowl mix rice bubbles, icing sugar and cocoa. 2) Melt copha in a microwave. Allow to cool slowly 3) Add copha to mixture in bowl and stir until all combined. 4) Spoon mixture in patty cake cases. 5) Add extra toppings if desired. 6) Put in fridge until firm.
