On individual notecards, write down the names of famous people who have done interesting things, thanks to a STEM background. Here are some examples: Jonas Salk Neil deGrasse Tyson Stephen Hawkings Albert Einstein Amar Bose Jeff Bezos Neil Armstrong Carl Sagan Guy Kawasaki Bill Nye Charles Darwin Jane Goodall Isaac Newton Sigmund Freud Johannes Kepler 2. On the back of the notecards, jot down three facts about each of the famous people. 3. Ask the students to break into teams for each of the four disciplines (math, science, etc), picking the area they are most interested in. 4. Ask each student to pick a notecard. 5. The student then reads the first fact about that person. 6. Classmates within each team guess at the famous person’s name. 7. If the classmates can’t answer, the student reads the next fact and again the classmates guess at the answer. 8. The team that can identify the most names wins a small prize. 9. Each team logs into CollegeWeekLive to learn about schools that offer degree programs in their area of interest (science, math, technology, or engineering). Students can visit the school’s online profile page or chat online with an admissions representative at that school. Materials You’ll Need: 1. Reserved computer lab 2.
