YOUTH EXCHANGE JAPAN We had joined the activity youth exchange which organized by Lion Club. There were three students come from Japan to having interflow with us. Leo Kuah Jia Liang organized a farewell party for Japan students on 31 st July 2010. During the dinner, the Japan students introducing themselves. Presents also prepared for them. On 1 st August 2010, we bring them to visit our famous zoo in Bintulu Taman Tumbina. They are curious with some animals that they never saw before. They also very impressive with the butterfly farm in the zoo. Different type of butterflies cause them keep taking photo. After that, we bring them to our beach Pantai Temasya which located near the zoo. We playing sand and taking photo together. We had joined the activity youth exchange which organized by Lion Club. There were three students come from Taiwan to having interflow with us.

On 15th August 2010, we having a farewell dinner with Taiwan students. Taiwan students introducing themselves during the dinner. Presents also prepared for them.

On 17fh August 2010, we and Taiwan students having a visit to manuplyplywood factory. We experience the process of manufacturing trunk into plywood and the use of plywood into different category.

Date7th August 2010

Leo Installation Night held at 7th August 2010 which organized by Lion Club of Bintulu Kemena. We were invited to attend the installation.

During the installation, all Leo members are required to having a declaration leaded by Lion Club president. After the declaration, all members were served their dinner. Besides that, each club also having a performance likes playing violin, funny short drama, and choir. Leo Club Kemena was honored to perform a Michael Jackson dance which won a lot of applause.

HARI RAYA VISIT

Sarawak has three main nations which are Malay, Chinese, and Iban. Each nation has their own culture and festivals. For example, Malay celebrate Hari Raya, Chinese celebrate Chinese New Year, and Iban celebrate HariGawai.

Experience different culture

To experience the different culture, we joined Hari Raya Visit which organized by Lion Club of Bintulu Kemena on 9th

September 2010. We followed Lion club visit three Malay houses. We are served with Malay traditional food likes curry, nasi lemang, kuih-muih and others.

On 17 September 2010, Leo Club of KemenaBintulu celebrated mooncake festival at Love Heaven. In that night, we having a barbeque party. Food and drink are ready for the orphans. After having delicious meal, we play some mini games with them. At last, we playing lanterns by bringing them walking around the house. We are glad to sharing the happiness with the orphans.

More Life

Our brave secretary donating her blood with smile. ^^

Either our government or private hospital, all are facing same problem which the stock of bloods are getting fewer. In some operations, a lot of bloods are needed by patient to survive. So, hospital need stock a lot of blood to standby for operation or emergency. Leo club of Bintulu Kemena attended the blood donation which organized by hospital. We just hoping the donated blood can save more life.

BEACH CLEANINGProtect Our Environment

Our president feel so sad while see rubbish are everywhere around the beach

Pantai Temasya Bintulu is the famous beach in Bintulu. During weekend or holiday, a lot of peoples like go to beach doing some activities. For example, swimming, jogging, picnic or barbeque. But after the activities finished, a lot rubbish are lifted at the beach.

To protect our beach, our president KuehJia Liang organized beach cleaning activity to clean out the rubbish. Leo club of SMK Bintulu also joined with us to complete the beach cleaning activity.

On 24 October 2010, we all gathered at beach car park. We started our beach cleaning at 6.30 am because there was lesser people early in the morning. So that, we can more concentrate and finish the beach cleaning faster. We collected all the rubbish and put into recyclable plastic bag.
