First aid training will ensure that not only does your business meet legal requirements, but also that your employees feel confident to deal with potential first aid situations. See page 4 for details First Aid Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate Course Code: C0460 Fees: £85 Start Date: Any time through the year Level 2 What is the training about? By law, employers must carry out a risk assessment to establish the level of first aid cover required for each location. This practical training is designed for workplaces with lower risk and few employees. Who should attend? It is aimed at those delegates who are the recognised nominated person, who can take charge when someone is injured or falls ill and maintains the first aid equipment. Training outcomes By the end of the training, delegates should be able to demonstrate techniques which enable them to offer support in the event of accidents and illnesses, including: treatment of wounds, burns and scalds, heart attacks and strokes, and shock and unconsciousness. Duration One day. Assessment Assessment is continuous. Progression Delegates who are required to take a more active role in workplace Health and Safety may wish to consider the HSEFirst Aid at Work or any of the Health and Safety programmes. First Aid at Work College Certificate Course Code: C0476 Fees: £85 Start Date: Any time through the year Level: 2 What is the training about? This practical training meets the requirements of the HSE approved certificate to show that the employee is a qualified first aider in the workplace, which is valid for three years. Who should attend? No formal entry requirements Training outcomes By the end of the training, employees should be able to demonstrate and deliver techniques which enable them to deal with a range of accidents and illnesses, including: unconscious casualties, choking, bleeding, burns and scalds, poisoning, fractures, shock, heart attacks and strokes. Duration Four days. Assessment Assessment is continuous. Progression Employees will be able to become a first aider within their work setting. ESF Free training The Ibis Hotel has been trading since May 2000 and several staff have enrolled on the First Aid course this year. Emergency First Aid Award

Course Codes: C0060 Fees: £75Start Date: Any time through the year Level: 2

What is the training about?This Award equips employees to deliver immediate first aid in the workplace under the HSE First Aid regulations. In addition it provides the knowledge to treat adult casualties at home. Who should attend?There are no entry requirements as such but delegates need to be physically fit.

Training outcomesFirst Aider roles and responsibilities. Incident management. Treatment of non-breathing casualty. Treatment of unresponsive casualty. Treatment of choking and bleeding.

DurationOne day.

AssessmentCoursework and short practical assessments.

ProgressionThis course will lead to progression to the Level 3 Award First Aid at Work and it will also support employees in their employment.
