Versalux is proud to present the LEDMASTER 1 floodlight by Fael Luce, marking a new era in high power LED lighting. This series has been developed by Fael Luce’s R&D department to meet the most demanding requirements in sports, airport and naval docks lighting and in general for all large areas that require efficient performance and technology. Its small size and superb performances allow an almost seamless substitution of traditional projectors.

LEDMASTER 1 is more than a product, is a solution that offers multiple types of installation options to allow the preservation of existing support structures and to fully satisfy the customers.

LEDMASTER 1 supports the latest standards in TV broadcasting and offers optional DMX control drivers.

Floodlight for large sport venues (HDTV), big areas and airports with High Power LED technology on a pressed aluminum heat-dissipating MCPCB (Metal Core Printed Circuit Board).

LEDMASTER 1 driver configuration is DALI dim/control as standard.

DMX drivers available on request.

The floodlight is available in different electrical and mechanical configurations, to best meet the various installation requirements.

GENERAL ■ Floodlight for large sport venues (HDTV), big areas

and airports, featuring up to either 288 x Single-chip or 80 x Multi-chip LEDs.

■ High Power LED technology on a pressed aluminum circuit, highly heat-dissipating MCPCB (Metal Core Printed Circuit Board).

■ Standard LED colour characteristics: For general use, 5000K CCT with CRI>70 or CRI>80, and for HDTV, 5700K CCT with CRI >80 or CRI>90. On request, different color temperatures and CRI are available. CCT ± 400K

■ LEDMASTER 1 is available in different electrical and mechanical configurations to best meet the various installation requirements:

■ Integral Driver version:- multiple drivers, mounted on easily serviceable cable plates, complete with polarity-corrected “Plug and Play” system;

■ On-Board Driver version:- multiple IP67 drivers, mounted externally on the luminaire connection box (available only in the symmetric version);

■ Remote Driver version:- multiple remotely located drivers, offered in a variety of configurations to suit a vast range of installation locations and requirements.

■ LEDMASTER 1 standard driver configuration is DALI dim/control. DMX drivers are available on request.

■ Body in low copper content die-cast aluminium with rear cross-sectional cooling fins designed for efficient thermal dissipation.

■ Integrated driver configuration: cable box (body and rear cover) in die cast aluminium.

■ On-board and remote driver configurations: aluminium cable plate and power supply box in die cast aluminium.

CLASS OF PHOTOBIOLOGICAL RISK ■ Risk group exempt from this according to EN 62471.

SYMMETRIC OPTIC ■ Symmetric optics designed in-house in nine different

beam angles from 8.8° to 48.6°. ■ Vacuum metallised technopolymer reflectors for high

efficiency and durability.ASYMMETRIC OPTIC

■ Asymmetric optics designed in-house in four different ‘fan’-shaped beams with ‘H’ beam angles from 29° to 63°.

■ Available optics: ■ Optic A2/A3/A5: Vacuum metallised technopolymer

■ The peak intensity of the optics are nominally 52°. A visor accessory is available to allow 10° upward tilt of the fixture for a nominal 62° peak intensity whilst maintaining a full cutoff optic.

protractor for setting tilt angles. ■ For a more precise aiming:

SYSTEM PROTECTION COORDINATION ■ In the development of LED lighting systems with

LEDMASTER 1 it is essential to introduce additional surge protection at the switchboard/control panel, and coordinate them with the SPDs of the floodlights.

APPLICATIONS ■ Sport facilities with HD television coverage, large and

industrial areas such as sea ports, terminal docks, container storage, railway yards and aprons, for high visual comfort and maximum glare control.

PHOTOMETRIC DESIGN CODE

LEDMASTER 1 offers a staggering number of fixture configurations for such a high-powered and high-performance product series. To simplify the process of designing, we utilise a DESIGN CODE to represent the photometric performance of the required product. Additional choices are then made to ensure the final product is physically and electrically optimised to site requirements.The PRODUCT CODE of the floodlight and driver is decided by a collaboration between the client/designer and Versalux: in fact there are many possible electrical, mechanical and control configurations. Once the lighting design has been defined, the fundamental points to be defined are:

■ Driver configuration (e.g. Integral Drivers, On-board Drivers, or Remote Drivers). ■ For Remote Driver solutions, the appropriate configuration must be selected (e.g. IP66 Box, IP20 or IP66 Plate). ■ System power supply voltage (i.e. 240V or 400V - standard fixtures are supplied in 220-240V AC 50-60Hz). ■ Check the mechanical compatibility of the infrastructure with the dimensions/weights of the floodlights and drivers

in their required configuration. ■ Define the possible control system (i.e. DALI or DMX - standard fixtures are supplied with DALI drivers).

PHOTOMETRIC DESIGN CODE SELECTION PROCESS

1. DECIDE ON BEAM SPREAD SYMMETRY

LEDMASTER 1 offers a wide array of Symmetrical and Asymmetrical beam spreads, ensuring the lighting design can be optimised according to the needs of the people, their tasks, and the project’s physical layout and environment. The custom-designed reflectors are highly-specular and specially formed to focus the beams of light to the surfaces and playing areas with minimal spillage. No other product matches LEDMASTER 1 in terms of options and support. When selecting the appropriate LEDMASTER 1 for your design, please note the following about the choice of Beam Spread Symmetry:

■ Symmetrical optics:

- Designed for efficient long distance projection of light, especially useful for sporting stadiums employing HDTV

- 9 custom reflector designs offering Beam Angles between 8° and 49°

- Fixture tilt-range: +20° to +80°

■ Asymmetrical optics:

- Standard fixture delivers full cutoff (i.e. no upward light) at 0° tilt, with Peak Intensity at 52° nominal. Optional visor accessory delivers full cutoff with +10° tilt for nominal 62° Peak Intensity.

- 4 custom reflector designs, creating 8 distributions when combined with the optional visor accessory.

- Fixture tilt-range: 0° to +20°

- Provides a ‘fan-shaped’ spread of illumination for high uniformity over a wide area

- Presents a minimal cross-section of product for reduced sail-area

2. CHECK AMBIENT TEMPERATURE FOR THE APPLICATION

LEDMASTER 1 can be ordered suitable for maximum ambient temperatures either up to 35°C or 50°C. Whilst selecting the appropriate version is obviously a matter of necessity according to the project environment, please note the following about the different Ambient Temperature versions:

■ Ta35°C versions:

- Available for all configurations

- Deliver highest total fixture lumen outputs

- LED life expectancy: >70,000hr (L80 B10) & >50,000hr (L90 B10)

■ Ta50°C versions:

- Available for all configurations except Symmetrical optics with Integrated Driver configuration

- LEDs are driven at lower currents, with corresponding power consumption and fixture outputs as a result

- LED life expectancy: >50,000hr (L80 B10)

3. CHOOSE GENERAL DRIVER CONFIGURATION

LEDMASTER 1 offers many choices for the physical location and configuration of its drivers, and some of these choices impact on the output/consumption of the fixtures, the weight and/or cross-sectional dimensions of the products. When selecting the preferred general Driver Configuration for LEDMASTER 1 in each location, please consider the following:

■ ID (Integrated Driver) versions:

- Refers to drivers inside an IP66 die-cast aluminium box attached to the fixture

- For Symmetrical optics, the Integrated Driver configuration reduces the light output and power consumption (Asymmetrical optics remain unaffected by Driver Configuration)

- For Symmetrical optics, the Integrated Driver configuration is not available for Ta50°C versions

- Highest weight of all configurations

■ OR (On-Board Driver or Remote Driver configuration) versions:

- Can refer to either IP67 drivers mounted on the fixture, or remotely located drivers for poles or cabinets elsewhere on the site

- Always provide the maximum allowable light output for the other choices made

- Lower/lowest weight options of all configurations
