    In Lectora

STEP 1A: Check to make sure you have the latest version of Lectora WHY: The Upload to HealthStream Service Pack that is needed for the publishing process requires that the user be on Lectora vX or newer.

    1) Open Lectora. 2) Check the top left corner of the splash screen to see the current version of the software (see below).

Note that you can also click Help on the top menu, then About Lectora to see the version.

    3) If you have Lectora vX or newer (the older version would typically be Lectora v9), move on to the next step.

    4) If you have an older version, please follow these bulleted steps: Go to this location: http://www.trivantis.com/support/service-pack-

downloads/lectora-publisher-version-x. Click on Download and follow the instructions. Once you complete the installation process for Lectora vX, move on to the next step.

STEP 1B: Check to make sure you have the Upload to HealthStream Service Pack WHY: The Upload to HealthStream Service Pack is a special Lectora add-on that is required to most efficiently validate and then send Lectora content into the HealthStream Learning Center for proper content deployment.

    1) Open Lectora. 2) Click on Publish. 3) Look for the Upload to HealthStream option (see below).

    4) If you have the Upload to HealthStream option, move on to the next step. 5) If you do not see that option, please follow these bulleted steps: 6) Copy and paste the following link into your web browser to download the HealthStream Plug-In

    for Lectora: https://na1.salesforce.com/sfc/p/300000006VymDZV3V4ssnBYld1oiNEd_iR9fO5A.

    7) To install the plug in, save it on the same machine as Lectora. 8) Once you see the Upload to HealthStream option in your Lectora publishing options, then you

know the plug-in is installed correctly.

STEP 2: Make sure your Lectora course is set as SCORM Content WHY: Content developed in Lectora can be distributed in many different formats, including SCORM. Before distributing the content to the HealthStream Learning Center, the content needs to be set as SCORM content to ensure that proper communication can occur between the content and the system.

    1) Open the Title Properties window by double clicking at the Title level of your course (see below).

    2) The Title Properties window will open (see below).

    3) Click on the Content tab (see below).

    4) Select AICC/SCORM/CourseMill (3.x and above) Published Title (see below).

    5) Then click OK (see below).

    6) You will then see an Assignable Unit (AU) added to your course. No changes to the AU will be needed (see below). The AU is simply needed for the SCORM communication desired between your content and the HLC.

STEP 3: Add Completion Status Action to appropriate page WHY: SCORM requires that a graded test or a completion status be set for content to be valid SCORM content. In all cases, you will need to follow this step to ensure that a completion status is submitted to the HealthStream Learning Center.

    1) Go to the page in your course that will communicate to the HLC that a student has completed the course. In my case, that is Conditional Variable, Page 1 (see below).

    2) Once the appropriate page is highlighted, select Add Action from the icon list (see below).

    3) The Action Properties window will open (see below).

    4) The process will remain as On: Show (on showing of the page); change Action to Modify Variable from the drop-down list.

DECISION POINT: USING SCORM 1.2 OR SCORM 2004:

You will now be presented with a decision regarding which version of SCORM you plan to use. The HealthStream Learning Center supports both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004. SCORM 1.2 is the most widely-used version of SCORM. However, during publishing Lectora will default to the most recent SCORM version, SCORM 2004. If you plan to use SCORM 1.2, a change will need to be made during the publishing process. We will cover that process in a future step. The developer will need to follow the appropriate steps below depending on the publishing plans.

Steps for SCORM 1.2 (Go to next Step for SCORM 2004)

Note: The possible SCORM 1.2 values for AICC_Lesson_Status are: passed, completed, failed, incomplete, browsed or not attempted. Only one value can be submitted at a time.

    5) Set Target to AICC_Lesson_Status.

    6) Enter the value of completed into the Value field. Leave Modification Type as Set Variable Contents (see below).

Steps for SCORM 2004 (Can use either of the below options)

Note: The possible SCORM 2004 values for AICC_Lesson_Status are: passed, failed or unknown. The possible SCORM 2004 values for CMI_Completion_Status are: completed, incomplete, not attempted or unknown.

    7) If you want to use AICC_Lesson_Status, set Target to AICC_Lesson_Status, enter the value of passed into the Value field. Leave Modification Type as Set Variable Contents (see below).

    10) View the Left Hand Pane in Lectora and make sure that the newly created OnShowModVar action is located on the Page level.

    11) You are now finished with this step.

STEP 4: Upload to HealthStream WHY: The content is created in Lectora but the resulting files need to be posted to the HealthStream Learning Center. Following the below steps will submit all files to HealthStream so that they can then be associated to the course/activity within HealthStream.

    1) Select Publish and Upload to HealthStream.

    2) Lectora will perform a check of the content to make sure there are no issues. Blue messages serve as warnings only. Red messages serve as errors and publishing cannot continue until these errors are corrected. Most Blue or Red messages can be double-clicked to go to the exact point in the course that the message is addressing.

The image below shows an error check screen with only warning messages.

    3) The image below shows an error check screen with error messages. Each error message must be corrected before publishing can occur. Again, double-click on any red error message to move to that location in the course.

    6) In the SCORM Options tab, select which type SCORM version you would like to use for publishing (see below). Again, SCORM 1.2 is the more common and SCORM 2004 is the more recent. The HealthStream Learning Center supports both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004.

    7) In the SCORM Options tab, the checkboxes should be set as you see below. These are the default settings (see below).
