This is the moment an adorable baby orangutan took his first tentative steps into the art of climbing and swinging through the trees.

Pictures show a mother encouraging her baby with kisses and cuddles before patiently holding him while he attempted to clamber through the dense jungle in Borneo.

'This baby was the cutest and the smallest of them all and had a very expressive face. His mom was teaching him how to live in the jungle which means being very strong and able to hold onto the trees as they live high up.'
