Issuing of Penalty Notices In our last pastoral bulletin, we highlighted that regular and punctual

attendance at school is both a legal requirement and essential for pu-

pils to maximize their educational opportunities. In law, an offence oc-

curs if a parent/carer fails to secure a child’s attendance at a school at

which they are a registered pupil and that absence is not authorized by the school.

In pursuit of fulfilling legal requirements, we have issued several notices

to parents whose children have failed to meet the guidelines issued by

the government.

Finally, it should be noted that our students are required to maintain

97%+ attendance throughout the school year.

Progress Review Meetings

At the end of every assessment period, your child’s Head of Year com-

piles a list of students who have achieved a grade lower than their tar-

get in English and Maths. Thereafter, they arrange a meeting with par-

ents in order to structure a revision plan and discuss progress. It is im-

portant to note that these meetings are of utmost importance and

must be attended by parents prior to the next assessment. Your

daughter’s Head of Year will send you a letter notifying you of the date

for the next meeting.
