Our Approach

The methodology the Leadtail team used to create this report:

1.  Iden'fy channel marketers ac've on Twi9er using criteria such as job 'tle, type of company, and geographic loca'on to create the “audience panel”.

2.  Use the Leadtail Social Insights Technology to extract data from the Twi9er API about the “audience panel” including tweets published in the report period.

3.  Analyze data from key ac'vi'es, such as links shared, men'ons and retweets, hashtags used, origina'ng plaKorms used to share content, etc.

4.  Analyze results in aggregate and editorially select a subset of the “audience panel” to showcase.

The specific data set analyzed for this report is comprised of: §  368 channel marketers in North America and Europe, ac've on Twi9er §  Manager level and above §  Titles including: channel marke'ng, partner marke'ng, and alliances

§  Total poten'al follower reach: 227,038; median # of followers per marketer: 341 §  Tweets published between November 1, 2015 – February 29, 2016

Key Takeaways

§  Channel marketers have fully embraced content marketing and are executing robust content strategies to support their networks.

§  Nearly every channel marketer we feature in this report shared content from his or her brand’s website, blog, or partner community. Brand content is the fuel that powers channel marketers’ social media engines!

§  Channel marketers are also leaning into the trend toward more visual content. For example, over half the channel marketers we analyzed have shared content from YouTube during the report period.

§  In large part, channel marketers are curating and amplifying content vs. creating original content. Nearly 7 in 10 tweets we analyzed for this report was a “retweet.”
