Our District Goals, 2018-19 Sue Waldren, 2018-19 NE-IA District Governor, #KidsNeedKiwanis!
Goal 1: Strengthen the existing clubs and open new clubs
• Support and nurture all clubs so they are healthy and growing. • Encourage more sharing of ideas for projects, fundraisers and best practices. There are amazing
things going on in our District. Our conventions will have more emphasis on sharing them. • Create an action plan to work with clubs with a membership under 20. • Encourage creative membership drives and make sure new members are engaged and welcomed. • Open four new clubs and four satellites of existing clubs (to attract interested people who cannot
meet at the regular club time).
Goal 2: Ensure volunteer leaders at all levels are well prepared and trained
• Promote Club Leadership Education as well as online training and use of webinars and Go To
meetings.
• Promote a succession plan for all leaders on the club, division, and district level.
• Promote the use of online resources including One Drive and Kiwanis.org/popular-resources.
Goal 3: Promote the overall use of technology
• Encourage clubs to promote themselves and keep members informed through newsletters, club websites, and social media.
• Promote proper branding when creating a brochure, website or social media post.
Goal 4: Grow Service Leadership Programs
• Encourage more clubs to sponsor or co-sponsor a Service Leadership Program. They are our future Kiwanians!
• Support the Key Leader program and Camp OK. Goal 5: Support our District wide project to Alleviate Childhood Hunger
• Promote sharing of ideas between the clubs to advocate for childhood food security.
• Encourage clubs to add a hunger service project if they do not have one.
Goal 6: Encourage all members and clubs to help us meet our Eliminate Pledge so
we can be successful in Eliminating Neonatal Tetanus in the world!
LET’S DREAM BIG – AND WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE OUR GOAL OF IMPROVING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND THEN CELEBRATE OUR SUCCESSES!
LET’S BE PROUD TO BE KIWANIANS!
