Conceptual Restoration Plan Progress Update

Planning Process1. Collect data on existing conditions

2. Compile and analyze opportunities and constraints to restoration

3. Meet with the Public to brainstorm potential restoration alternatives

4. Determine preliminary restoration alternatives

5. Meet with Technical Advisory Committee and Public to identify final alternatives

6. Analyze each of the final restoration alternatives7. Finalize report that presents the restoration alternative

analysis and summarizes the project findings

General Ranking Raw Numbers Raw numbers/TotalWow! This station’s information is

comprehensive and it is exciting to see this data finally compiled. My comments reflect

what I liked most about this station.70 82%

Interesting! This station’s information is excellent, but there are a couple shortcomings that could be investigated further. My comments express the data gaps that I observed.

13 15%

Unimpressed! The information displayed at this station is not complete and there remain noticeable opportunities for growth. In my comments I have described the areas that could be improved upon.

Workshop #3 ActivityNow we want to work on developing preliminary concepts for

restoration alternatives with you

We encourage you to use the maps in front of you and:

1. Use the Green Marker to outline areas you think need Lots of Restoration AttentionLots of Restoration Attention

2. Use the Blue Marker to outline areas you think need Less Restoration AttentionLess Restoration Attention

3.Use the Red Marker to outline areas you think need Little Restoration Attention Little Restoration Attention

Use the pens on the table to explain the “bubbles” you have created and describe

what your vision is.

Screening AlternativesThings to Keep in mind:

1) There are three themes

2) Each theme has a Minimum vs. Maximum touch3) These are screening alternatives from which 3 preferred alternatives will be created

4) Your feedback on the creative ideas being presented will help drive this process

Alternative AnalysisEach alternative will be analyzed by the following criteria:• Habitat• Public access• Hydrology• Construction requirements• Maintenance regime• Cost estimates• Consistency with project goals and objectives• Public support

Our team will also describe:• Infrastructure changes• Phasing options• Preliminary engineering designs

Page 35: LCW Public Presentation Workshop #5

Next Steps

• Perform analysis for 3 conceptual restoration design alternatives

• Finalize report that presents the restoration alternative analysis and summarizes the project findings

• Prepare project for Environmental Review
