PSO1: Has acquired strong foundation in economics subject and can apply the knowledge in PG
course, research work, in competitive exams and in combating real life challenges.
PSO2: Uses a demand and supply analysis which is the very heart of economics to all sectors
including international trade. Analyses the application of economic concepts, theory and
principles such as cost concepts, BEA, law of variable proportions, law of economies of scale,
pricing policy in decision making in order to optimize the use of scarce resources.
PSO3: Analyses the contribution of money and capital market in Indian economy. Analyses the
efficacy of monetary and fiscal policy in achieving growth with stability and in establishing an
egalitarian type of a society.
PSO4: Analyses the correlation between TQM and human capital, the importance of large
industrial houses in economic development and the importance of good industrial relations, CSR
and workers satisfaction to achieve business success in the competitive corporate world.
PSO5: Understands the unique position of Karnataka economy in Indian economy. The
distinctiveness of Karnataka as knowledge capital of India and Bangalore its capital as silicon
city. Analyses the importance of social and economic infrastructure and role of FDI in economic
development of Karnataka

PSO1: The students are able understand origin of concept sociology, its scientific nature, and its
scope, subject matter perspective. The basic concepts like social system, organization, social order
and norms. It also helps to understand social control agencies and their influences and culture, its

PSO2: It helps to understand various social institutions like marriage among Hindu, Muslim,
Christian, family, kinship, religion and education and their important role in the society. These

Communication. Further, the paper will be able to equip the students to understand origin and nature

PSO6: Sociology of Health and medicine-this paper aims to introduce the students about concepts
of health, components of health and to impress upon him that health is primarily a social science
subject than of medical science and make them aware that health is one of the basic right of every
