Vietnam Veteran: UFO threat to pilots must be dealt with now

Bob Shmidt writes, "I flew A-I Skyraiders in Vietnam for three years and my love of flying followed me into civilian life and for that I have no regrets. Obviously I have clocked up a fair fewhours in the cockpit, since honorable discharge from the Air Force I have owned and flown Cessna's,Pipers and ultra-lights.

Throughout the years I have been in situations where I found myself praying: ice, storms, and zerovisibility. None of these were as frightening as a UFO encounter I experienced a decade ago, while

high above San Diego. One clear June morning as I looked ahead of me I noticed movement out ofthe side of eye. To my shock a huge UFO, twice the size of my Cessna 172 was traveling alongside

me. I stared at the UFO for less than a minute and it just sped off and vanished in a second. As it didmy plane lunged to the side violently and started to dip. I managed to stabilize things and spent thenext two hours wondering what the heck I had just seen.

Here's a dose of reality which might be hard to swallow for those wishing to stay in the cozy bubbleour governments and media have created for us: Alien and UFO visits to earth are fact: totallyirrefutable certainty. UFOs from other worlds are entering our air space all the time everyone that

'needs' to know it does. UFOs do present a serious risk to pilots, military, commercial and private. Itis essential that the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the ICAO (International Civil AviationOrganization) make study of UFOs and the dangers they present as well as advised procedures inthe event of a UFO encounter a non negotiable part of training to earn a Pilot's License.

It is also essential that the FAA generally comes clean to pilots about UFOs in the skies. The FAAshould also train tower personnel on UFOs and admit that those odd things that are observed formtime to time, both on radar and visually are alien craft - so that all pilots can be informed of anynearby UFOs they need to take into account. http://www.allnewsweb.com/page1199999466.php

Proposed McDonnell Douglas (UFO)

Vehicle Research and Development Program

A McDonnell Douglas 25 June 1968 Document states, "The vast majority of the (UFO) vehicle sighting reports indicates strong magnetic fields are generated by the vehicles. These fields are presumed to be connected with the propulsion system.

The background indicates that some UFOsmay be extraterrestrial vehicles; theycertainly have not been proven otherwise.

The existence of extraterrestrial vehicles indicates that vehicles can be built which would havecapabilities quite useful to McDonnell Douglas Corporation. In addition, if the UFOs are vehicles thenthe UFO observations give clues for guiding a research and development program for evolving thevehicles.

In summary, the results of an analysis of the UFO observations provide the basis for MDCmanagement to allocate a small expenditure for high risk-high payoff vehicle R&D. At the same time, the observations provide guidelines for conducting a vehicle R&D.

Analysis of UFO OBSERVATIONS

Three avenues appear worthwhile for obtaining useful data from the UFOs.

1. Compilation of data in the literature.

2. Interviews with contactees.

3. ESP

It is know that Donald Wills Douglas the founder of Douglas Aircraft Corporation was quite interestedin UFOs when he merged with McDonnell Corporation in 1967. Twenty years later in 1997,

McDonnell Douglas merged with Boeing in a $13 billion stock-swap to create The Boeing Company .Thanks to History Channel's Ancient Aliens

UFO under the USS Eisenhower

Indian Ocean -- Andrew Griffin writes, "Agood friend of mine told me a colleague he worked with shared a strange UFO/USO sighting in 1985.

He was a sailor was on night duty on theaircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean, west ofDiego Garcia. That's when a largesubmersible craft began to rise from theseabed and as it did caused the USSEisenhower to list 10 degrees. It thenhovered near the aircraft carrier and thentook off. The entire ship was told not to tellanything about this. Thanks to AndrewGriffin

Top UFO books from 2010

1.) Kean, Leslie UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go On the Record . Harmony

Books: NY.

This one is the best of the year. Well-written, informative, and it infuriated debunkers as well.Couldn't ask for much more.

2.) Vallee, Jacques and Aubeck, Chris Wonders in the Sky. Penguin: NY.

A sequel of sorts to Passport to Magonia, Vallee teamed up with Aubeck to produce a highly

detailed cross between The Book of the Damned and the Fortean Times' Classical Corner.http://www.amazon.com/Wonders-Sky-Unexplained-Objects-

Antiquity/dp/1585428205/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1292516355&sr=1-1

3.) Feindt, Carl UFOs and Water Xlibris Corporation: http://www.xlibris.com A paper version of his wonderful website, Feindt has produced a self-published work similar in

nature to that of Vallee, listing hundreds of cases where UFOs and aliens seem to have an attractionto water.

4.) Friedman, Stanton and Marden, Kathleen Science Was Wrong. New Page Books: Pompton

Plains, NJ.Technically not a UFO book, as such, it's even found in "Science" sections of bookstores. Friedman

and Marden authored alternating chapters on a variety of science's shortsightedness, including one

on UFOs.http://www.amazon.com/Science-Was-Wrong-Inventions-

Impossible/dp/1601631022/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1292516412&sr=1-1

5.) Randle, Kevin Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky. New Page Books: Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Another chronology (do you see the trend here?), this time regarding stories and references to

alleged UFO crashes. It's remarkably comprehensive, including many previously unknown sources.

6.) Birnes, William  Aliens in America. Adams Media: Avon, Massachusetts.Focusing on about 20 major cases in the USA during the past 60 years, Birnes gives a short

overview plus some speculation, and adds travel and tourism tips for those wanting to visit, say,

New Hampshire.

7.) Goyette, Danielle OVNIs. Editions Michel Quintin: Waterloo, Quebec. The only foreign language book included in the list, this is part of a series on paranormal

phenomena, looking at cases in Quebec. It is part biography of ufologiste Francois Bourbeau, and

part sighting chronology.

8.) Bullard, Thomas The Myth and Mystery of UFOs. University Press of Kansas: Lawrence, KS.Anything by Bullard is a welcome addition to lists like this, especially for his writing, which is

literary and more erudite than most. The book is less nuts-and-bolts and more introspective than

most other UFO works.http://www.amazon.com/Myth-Mystery-UFOs-Thomas-

Bullard/dp/0700617299/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1292516552&sr=1-1

9.) Pilkington, Mark  Mirage Men. Skyhorse Publishing: NYIncluded for its slant on the popular interest in conspiracies, Pilkington has produced a work which

asks the question, "What?" Is it possible that ufologists are the sane ones?http://www.amazon.com/Mirage-Men-Adventure-Espionage-

Psychological/dp/1602398003/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1292516589&sr=1-1

10.) Imbrogno, Philip Ultraterrestrial Contact: A Paranormal Investigator's Explorations into the

Hidden Abduction Epidemic. Llewellyn: Woodbury, MN.Not quite as good as Files From the Edge, this book is a kind of autobiography of a ufologist as

Imbrogno describes his personal investigations into UFO reports and other paranormal experiences,

some very weird indeed.http://www.amazon.com/Ultraterrestrial-Contact-Paranormal-Investigators-
