Laos’ power transmission grid to receive a strong boost from private investment, a result of the coopera�on agreement between the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Interna�onal Finance Corpora�on (IFC). The MoU will enhance Laos’ electricity service provision as well as promote power exports.

Laos is expected to further develop another 10,000 MW of electricity by 2020, increasing to an addi�onal 20,000 MW by 2030, aiming for 90% of all families in Laos to have access to
electricity by 2025.
