Here is what Mrs. King has to say about her new position: I am thrilled and honored to be selected as Assistant Principal at Lake Orienta Elementary for the upcoming school year. The past ten years I have had the privilege of serving as a Reading Coach and RtI Coach at Spring Lake Elementary and Lake Orienta Elementary. I attended Stetson University in 2008 for certifica- tion coursework in Educational Leadership. I love learning and continually in search of new learning opportunities to share with teachers and better serve our families and students. I’m thoroughly enjoying my new role and participating in many school events. Please say hello and introduce yourself to me as our paths may cross. I’m looking forward to working together with you!‖ Thank you for your cooperation with our Car Rider Arrival and Dismissal procedures. As you know, we begin our drop off at 8:05AM each day and we are happy to share that most car riders are dropped off and headed to their campus waiting area by 8:15am. In addition, our afternoon pick up procedures are allowing most students (in good weather) to be picked up and headed for home by 3:20PM. Our two parking lots are Lot A (the lot in front of the cafeteria) and Lot B (the lot in front of the two story building). Our Arrival and Dismissal Procedures are as follows: Students are welcome on campus any time after 8:05AM. If you arrive before 8:05, please wait with your child, unless you have enrolled him in our Extended Day program (in which case you’ll take your child to the Cafeteria). Between 8:00AM and 8:30AM, cars are only allowed in Lot B. The other area, Lot A is designated as ―Buses Only.‖ This includes the area behind (or at the south end of) our Cafeteria, which is designated at all times ―Authorized Vehicles Only.‖ The traffic pattern does not allow for left hand turns into Lot B during arrival or dismissal times. During the 8:05 to 8:30AM arrival time, if you need to park and walk to the office, please park in any parking spot in Lot B to avoid walking between the buses. Please do not park along the street. During dismissal, please remember that your car rider child will only be released to you while you are in your vehicle. We will not release children to parents who walk to the line. In case of emergency, please go to the front office and sign your child out. —Please be aware of the No Parking signs at the walkers’ gate on Riviera Street. If your child is to be picked up by car, please pick him up in Lot B. Thank you for your cooperation. We welcome any suggestions you may have, just contact the front office at 407-746-2650. For 40 years, the national PTA Reflections

Program has encouraged students across the

nation and in American schools overseas to

explore their artistic talents. More than half a

million students participate in the Reflections

Program through their local PTAs each year—and

their works are recognized at the local, council,

regional, state, and national levels. Claire

Pelletier was one of the students who received

national recognition for her creativity, artistic

merit, and interpretation of the 2009-2010

Reflections Program theme, “Beauty Is..."

Claire won the National Award of Merit for her

Reflections painting of Lady Liberty. Her painting

is posted on the National PTA Reflections online

gallery and she received a check for $100 from

National PTA. We are proud of Claire for repre-

senting Lake Orienta Elementary, Seminole

County Public Schools, and the state of Florida.
