Es un placer para la Universidad de Navarra y enparticular para la Unidad de Sueño contar con tupresencia en este Simposio Internacional sobre elTratamiento Multidisciplinar de la Apnea delSueño. El evento tendrá lugar los días 26, 27 y 28de Marzo de 2008 en el salón de actos de la Facultadde Medicina. Contaremos con la participación demás de 20 ponentes tanto nacionales comoextranjeros, todos ellos con una dilatada experienciaen los temas que van a abordar.

En el programa hemos querido resaltar el enfoquemultidisciplinar en el manejo de esta patología,tanto por el problema de salud pública que planteacomo por la necesidad de un acertado diagnósticoy seguimiento. Hemos abordado el problema de lacomorbilidad asociada al SAHS; cardiovascular,pulmonar, endocrinológica, neurológica y psiquiátrica.Tampoco nos hemos olvidado de sus peculiaridadesen la población infantil y femenina, así como, la mejorforma de optimizar los distintos métodos detratamiento médico y quirúrgico para cada uno deestos pacientes.

Esperando que el contenido científico y la selecciónde ponentes sean de tu interés y que disfrutes deunas jornadas agradables en Pamplona.

It is a pleasure for the University of Navarra and inparticular for the Sleep Unit to count with yourparticipation in this International Symposium onthe Multidisciplinary Treatment of Sleep Apnea.The event will take place on the following 26th, 27thand 28th of March, 2008 in the Auditorium of theSchool of Medicine. We will have the honor of havingmore than 20 national and international speakers, allof them with years of experience in the different fieldsthat make up Sleep Apnea.

Our intention is to point out the multidisciplinaryapproach in the handling of this pathology having inmind that it is a public health problem and that thereis the necessity of a proper diagnosis and follow up.We are also going to talk about the problem ofcomorbidity associated with the OSAS: cardiovascular,pulmonary, endocrinological, neurological andpsychiatric. We have not forgotten about itspeculiarities in children and women neither about thebest form to optimize the different medical and surgicaltreatment methods for each of those patients.

Hoping that the scientific contents as well as theselection of the speakers will be of your interest, wewish you a pleasant stay in Pamplona.
