docia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 ,and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and inthe parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews andproselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabi-ans, we do hear them speak in

our tongues the wonderful worksof God. 12 And they were allamazed, and were in doubt, say-ing one to another, What meaneththis? 13 mocking said, These

men are full of new wine.

    Acts 2:1-13 (KJV)

A lot of people think that the giftof Tongues is speaking an An-gelic language. There are thosethat speak this without an inter-preter and think that this is Scrip-tural evidence of salvation. But is

it really? I mean on the Day ofPentecost the Apostles were allfilled with the Holy Ghost andspoke the Gospel message invarious (diverse) tongues. Butdid any of them speak this An-gelic language?

The reason why I ask this isbecause if any of the Apostlesdid speak the angelic tongue thenwhy would angels need salva-tion? Let us look at Acts chapter2 to see what the Word of Godhas to say on this matter.

    Chapter 2

The apostles are filled with theHoly Spirit and witness in manylanguages

1 And when the day of Pentecostwas fully come, they were all withone accord in one place. 2 And

suddenly there came a soundfrom heaven as of a rushingmighty wind, and it filled all thehouse where they were sitting. 3And there appeared unto themcloven tongues like as of fire, and

it sat upon each of them. 4 Andthey were all filled with the HolyGhost, and began to speak withother tongues, as the Spirit gavethem utterance.

5 And there were dwelling atJerusalem Jews, devout men, outof every nation under heaven. 6Now when this was noisedabroad, the multitude came to-gether, and were confounded, because that every man heardthem speak in his own language.7 And they were all amazed andmarvelled, saying one to another,Behold, are not all these whichspeak Galilaeans? 8 And howhear we every man in our owntongue, wherein we were born? 9Parthians, and Medes, and Elam-ites, and the dwellers in Mesopo-tamia, and in Judaea, and Cappa-

Bible Study: The False Understanding of Speaking In Tongues?

Ok now that we see the Scriptureon this topic, I have highlighted

the part of the text where all ofthose present were from. I see nomention of any angels hearingthis marvelous news. Besideswhy would angels need salva-tion? Now that we see the gift ofTongues in action here where it isfirst spoken of in the Scriptureslet us look at what the ApostlePaul says about the heavenly

    (angelic) tongue.

Let us consider what Paul wrotein 2 Corinthians 12 about thisheavenly language.

    Chapter 12

Paul could boast of wonderfulvisions and Revelation

1 It is not expedient for me doubt-less to glory. I will come to vi-

sions and revelations of the Lord.2 I knew a man in Christ above

which it is not lawful for a manto utter.

    2 Cor 12:1-4 (KJV)

Now this is in plain, comprehen-sive language here. No mysticalweird stuff just Paul relaying anaccount of someone that heknew once that had heard thistongue. Notice the last versestates," How that he was caughtup into paradise, and heardunspeakable words, which is notlawful for a man to utter." Whattype of language is spoken inparadise which is a part ofHeaven? I would imagine this

heavenly (angelic) language(tongue) that has a lot of folksspouting about so much. I findthat no where in the Word ofGod does anyone exhibit thistype of speaking in tongues. Also in the Scriptures it wasclearly stated by Paul in hissecond letter (epistle) to Timothyabout babbling.

16 But shun profane and vainbabblings: for they will increaseunto more ungodliness.

    2 Tim 2:16 (KJV)

In conclusion, I must state thatthis study is not with the intent

to offend/bash those who arepracticing this now. But merelyto relay what God's Wordthrough the Holy Ghost hastaught me without the chains of"denominationalism". I pray thatthis will not only edify theChurch but also point to ChristJesus as our focal point and notone that stands on a stage bab-bling for attention. May the Lordour God bless each of you richlyand more abundantly.

pursue truth and love at thesame time and hang on baby,

youre in for the ride of your life.

Love in truth. Truth in love.

Never one at the expense of theother. Never the embrace of love

without the torch of truth. Neverthe heat of truth without the

    warmth of love.

To pursue both is our singular

    task.

A Note From Max:ABOUT LOVEThe single most difficult pursuit

    is truth and love.

That sentence is grammaticallycorrect. I know every Englishteacher would like to pluralize it

to read: The most difficult pur-

suits are truth and love. But

thats not what I mean to say.

    Love is a difficult pursuit.

Truth is a tough one, too.But put them both together,

God of heaven, we seeyour hand stretching as

far as the east is fromthe west. Put your handsand your arms around us

and embrace us, Father. Thenhelp us to stretch out our handsand arms to a world that desper-

ately needs your love-and ours.Amen. (Quoted from Gods In-spirational Promise Book-Max

Towhom He answered and said, "Iam come again to be crucified."By this, Peter, perceiving hissuffering to be understood, re-turned into the city. Jerome saiththat he was crucified, his headbeing down and his feet upward, himself so requiring, because hewas (he said) unworthy to becrucified after the same form

Among many other saints, theblessed apostle Peter was con-demned to death, and crucified,as some do write, at Rome; al-beit some others, and not with-out cause, do doubt thereof.Hegesippus saith that Nerosought matter against Peter toput him to death; which, whenthe people perceived, they en-treated Peter with much ado thathe would fly the city. Pastor Youcef Nardarkhani

Location: Iran (Islamic Republic of)Arrested: October 2009Days Imprisoned: 565

Recently, Pastor Youcef Nardarkhani was reportedly sentenced to death for apostasy. VOM contacts confirm thatthe pastors trial was held in recent weeks in the 11th Chamber of The Assize Court of the province of Gilan.

Pastor Youcef is one of several members of his church who have been imprisoned. In the past, the Iranian gov-ernment has also imprisoned and released his wife. Pastor Youcef was arrested in October 2009 after protesting adecision by the government requiring that his son study the Quran.

Media reports suggest that Pastor Youcef was transferred to Lakan prison, which is supervised by the PoliticalPolice of the Islamic Republic. If a death sentence is officially handed down by the court and Pastor Youcef isexecuted, his would be the first judicial execution of a Christian in Iran in two decades.

Pastor Youcef is a leader in the Full Gospel Church of Iran network, a group that stands apart from most housechurch groups in Iran.

Still Waiting: Pastor Youcef remains in the custody of the Islamic government of Iran under a death sentence atLakan prison in Gilan province in northern Iran. He is being held in the main part of the prison with drug dealersand murderers. He is waiting for the Supreme Court to review his case and render a judgment on whether or notthe death sentence will be carried out. ( Story From The Voice Of the Martyrs:PrisonerAlert)
