PROPERTIES of EVACUATED GLASS TUBE
The evacuated tubes are produced from nested glass tubes. After completing the nesting process of tubes,the air is depleted and the tube is vacuumed via the hole below the tube. Later, this hole is heated and welded.Thus, any vacuum leakage is prevented.
One piece of vacuum tube can produce averagely 40 kcal/h energy. This value increases by higher solar radiation,decreases by lower solar radiation. The average value 40 kcal/h is used for the calculations.

THE COMPARISON of KUZEYMAK Solar Water Heaters with Flat-Type Solar Collectors
KUZEYMAK solar water heater system tubes produced from nested glass tubes. The heat loss is minimized due to vacuum between two tubes. The outer tubeglass is resistant to any hard weather conditions. Transparent and durable inner tube is made of a special combination of glass and its surface is coated by aspecial selective coating. Through this selective coating, 93% of sunshine can be absorbed perfectly by tubes and converted to heat. The reflection ratio ofsunshine is reduced to minimum values (7%).
Due to vacuum between two glass tubes, there are negligible heat losses by conduction or convection. Vacuum process prevents the heat losses caused byrainy, snowy, windy and cold weather conditions. Thus, the KUZEYMAK solar water heater system can be used during the whole year.Flat-Type solar collectors don’t have vacuum property, the heat losses are really higher than vacuum tube solar systems in cold weather conditions. Heat losses reduce the thermal efficiency sharply andprevent the usage of the solar water heater system the whole year.
There is no need to add antifreeze to KUZEYMAK solar water heaters with evacuated tubes. The solar water heater system can run regularly and produce hot watereven at -40 °C and under suitable weather conditions.The flat-type solar collectors need antifreeze because of the risk of freezing. Although adding antifreeze to the flat-type solar collectors, these collectors can’t run efficiently under 0 °C.
All the metal sections of the KUZEYMAK solar water heater systems made of stainless steel (Chrome-Nickel). Due to this material property, the hot water in the watertank of the system is drinkable; this depends on the drinkable property of the main water.As a result of the materials used on production of flat-type collectors, some problems such as rust, calcification and obstruction may occur. Also the water produced in the flat-type collectors is notsuitable for drinking.
The polyurethane insulation material which has a very low heat transfer coefficient and 55 mm in thickness is used in hot water tanks of KUZEYMAK solar water heatersystems, thus the temperature of hot water can be protected for a long time, also at cold weather conditions.Glass wool is generally used as insulation material for the hot water tanks in flat-type solar collectors. The insulation property of glass wool is lower than polyurethane.
Cylindrical vacuum tubes of KUZEYMAK solar water heater systems get sunshine vertically during the whole day. Through the tubes special surface coating, thereflection ratio can be minimized.The flat-type solar collectors can get the sunshine vertically only at midday, this property prevents to be effective of the solar system.
WORKING PRINCIPLE of Non-Pressurized Solar Water Heaters with Evacuated Tubes
There is no need any power supply to run this type of solar water heaters. When the cold water is heated by solar radiation in vacuum tubes,the density of water decreases. The heated water moves through above into hot water tank. However, the density of heated and rising water isn’thigher than the hot water in the water tank. So, the heated water stays below of the hot water tank and relocates hotter water above thewater tank. This principle is called natural circulation. Non-pressurized solar water heaters work by this natural circulation principle.
Additionally, when the solar water heater system is installed on the roof, the natural pressure of water suppliesthe necessary boosting pressure to hot water main.

WORKING PRINCIPLE of Pressurized Solar Water Heaters with Evacuated Tubes
The difference between the non-pressurized and pressurized solar water heaters is the presence of serpentine in the hot water tank for thepressurized systems. The mains water is circulated in the serpentine, so the heat transfer occurs between the mains water and hot water in thewater tank. The serpentine diameter is 16 mm and made of stainless steel.
When the installation of solar water heater is completed, to prevent the pressure variation, pressure reducer is usedwith this type of solar water heaters. The cause of preferability of pressurized systems is the insufficient pressureof non-pressurized solar water heaters for some applications. With this systems, the necessary pressure is supplied for the hot water usage.

WORKING PRINCIPLE of Heat Pipes and Heat Pipe Solar Collectors
The heat pipe is hollow with the space inside evacuated tube. In this type of solar water heater, the insulation is not the goal, but rather to alter thestate of the liquid inside. Inside the heat pipe is a small quantity of purified water and some special additives. At sea level water boils at 100 °C, butat the top of a mountain the boiling temperature will be less that 100 °C. This is due to the difference in air pressure. Based on this principle, it canbe achieved by evacuating the heat pipe. So, when the heat pipe is heated above lower temperatures than 100 °C, the water vaporizes. Thisvapour rapidly rises to the top of the heat pipe transferring heat. As the heat is lost at the condenser (top of the heat pipe), the vapour condensesto form a liquid (water) and returns to the bottom of the heat pipe to repeat the process once again.

WORKING PRINCIPLE of Ecoboiler
Kuzeymak Ecoboiler is used for heating the domestic water and space in buildingsand apartments that have central heating installation. The 90 °C water fromthe central heating system to ecoboiler, circuits between inner and outer tank ofecoboiler and heats the usage water feeded from the main network. Heated waterexits from the hot water output to be used. Kuzeymak Ecoboilers also heat the space,because there isn’t any insulation material between inner and outer tanks.
Besides central heating systems and renewable energy resources it is a practical andeconomical solution that also has electrical heating option. For some models ofKuzeymak Ecoboilers, there are temperature indicator and assembly point option forelectrical resistance application. Electrical Ecoboilers can also be used with theinstallation systems without central heating system as instant water heater. For thistype of application, the input and output of the central heating system should beclosed by plugs.
A safety valve with 3 bars should be installed at the cold water input to prevent anexplosion that may be caused pressure increase in the Ecoboiler.
