F o r g e t c r o c o d i l e s and snakes, the real animal t h r e a t i n Australia are wild pigs.

At l eas t i f you're camping. At a campground in Western Australia recently, a feral pig guzzled down 18 beers that had been left out in the open and were improperly secured.

And just like anyone who is 18 beers in at a rural dive bar, the pig got big headed and

decided to start a fight with a cow, resulting in the cow chasing the pig around a car. “In the middle of the night these people camping opposite us heard a noise, so they got their

torch out and shone it on the pig and there he was, scrunching away at their cans,” said a n e i g h b o r i n g camper. The pig was l a t e r r e p o r t e d s l e e p i n g h i s h a n g o v e r ( a n d shame of trying to take down a cow?) off under a tree. While feral pigs are c o n s i d e r e d a n invasive pest in many parts of the

country, it's also a reminder to keep food and drink secured when camping. Just imagine if it had been a drunk kangaroo.

G'day again folks and welcome to another week on the Island of the Gods. A fairly lacklustre week has just passed with nothing really interesting happening. I think the shops and businesses on the island are gearing up for the Christmas rush which really isn't very far away at all, along with the New Years Eve celebrations. I guess I should mention the Schoolies as well. Its about that time of year when the place is about over run by youngies that think they are a tad worldlier than they actually are and that drinking rocket fuel cocktails at

heavilly reduced prices is what all people that come to Bali actually do. I watch every year as they come and in toe are the dreaded Australian televison reporters and their camera crews trying their best to document how well behaved these young crew are……

I find it strange that so many people from Australia come here each year and spend what they spend and still the powers that be back home keep pelting the crap out of the place. You only need look at the official numbers or sit on the beach and watch plane after plane landing at the newly built massive airport. The planes just seem to keep coming non stop. I think the media back home is on a hidden agenda to try and stop the flow of money from leaving our country and entering Indonesia, but it seems no matter what they broadcast, report on, or say, the numbers of travellers and hotels for that matter keep swelling. Rock on Bali I say but batten down the hatches in readiness for the schoolies.

Moving on and on a different swing, it seems the issue of travel insurance has raised its ugly necessary head again. From what I can gather a friend of a friend was enjoying their holiday last week when suddenly they woke up dead. Now this may seem a little extreme, however, it is true. It has now been made apparent that the deceased suffered a major heart attack and simply passed. The problem starts when the family want the body taken home and dealt with and all the associated issues in relation to that become incredibly huge. From storing a dead body, to transporting it or getting death certificates, not to mention the many police reports, without which, the body can't be released to the family. It becomes a bloody mess. This mess isnt just because its Bali, I can only imagine what it would be like if you where in India…

I expect that if you are reading this, you know what a good editorial writer is and that you have a fairly good understanding of the English language, unlike the writer, who will repeat yet again, if you are going to travel in a third world country without insurance you are an absolute idiot. One can only imagine what the dead mans body cost the family to have taken home along with all associated charges for the same, so please readers, if you are going on holidays get travel insurance. It is seriously well priced and there is a policy to suit all budgets. If you don't have the cash, I suggest you borrow it.

Alrighty with that off my chest I feel much better and think the time for a few little green ones is upon me, so its kick back time and while the sun sets on another succesful issue at the Kuta Weekly, I trust that the most of you stay safe, happy, healthy and always try your best to remember, When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right things a chance to catch up.

Enjoy your week, ALIASJ……..

PS: A Super huge congratulations from all the staff and management at the Kuta Weekly and The Kuta Townhouses to Miss Mini on her Wedding…..

D e n p a s a r M a y o r P r o m i s e s S t r i c t Enforcement of Anti-Smoking Laws in Bali's Capital

The Jakarta Globe reports that Bali's capital of Denpasar is moving towards stricter control of its anti-tobacco and anti-smoking regulations.

Denpasar's mayor Ida Bagus Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra, speaking during the 45th Union World Conference on Lung Health in Barcelona, Spain said: “The goal is, in the future, people can no longer smoke mindlessly, even in an open space or protocol streets. They can only smoke in the provided smoking corners.”

The municipality of Denpasar passed a strict ant-smoking law in 2013 but enforcement has, at least to date, been half-hearted at best.

Current plans are to socialize an anti-smoking message to the public and tourist visitors in December

warning of the penalties that await those who violate the law.

The City Government also plans to address charges that they have been hypocritical in their approach to smoking, insisting they will not extend contracts for cigarette advertising on electronic billboards, prohibited under the 2013 law.

I t is unclear i f tobacco advertising via sponsorship of local musical events will continue under the promised stricter approach to law enforcement.

Casting doubt on Denpasar's commitment to enforce the law and

delay any real change, Mantra said: “We're now preparing all the necessary signage to inform [people] about the smoking prohibition and the fine. After six months to one year we will begin stricter law enforcement, because if you enforce the regulation without introducing it first, people will complain.”

T h e M a y o r s a i d Denpasar aspires to be like Singapore where smoking in

public areas is strictly enforced. The stricter enforcement of the

law, when and if it comes, will be equally applied on both Indonesians and foreign visitors.

Bali made world headlines earlier in 2014 when it closed down the Inter-Tabac Asia Conference, saying the pro tobacco promotional message of the conference violated the Island's smoking law.

Room at the TopA s s o c i a t i o n o f I n d o n e s i a n H o t e l General Managers Calls for Greater Appointment of Indonesians to Top Hotel Posts

The Indonesian Hotel G e n e r a l M a n a g e r Association (IHGM) – a grouping of Indonesian na t iona ls se rv ing as general managers of 3,4 and 5 star hotels held a meeting at the Grand Zumi Hotel in Bali on Friday, November 7, 2014.

A s r e p o r t e d b y Beritadewata.com, the chairman of IHGM, Arief Bonahianto said: “This association is a gathering of hotel general managers who are genuinely from Indonesia. We were established in 2012 and are total membership has now reached 69.”

His comments were made at the 2nd IHGM Innovation and Gathering 2014.

Arief explained that the gatherings were intended to find and explore new ideas that will advance the Indonesian hotel industry. Adding: “In the future we plan to conduct training for our general managers that will improve our skills. Hopefully, this can be undertaken next year.

Continuing, the IHGM cha i rman sa i d : “Gene ra l Managers originating from Indonesia are able to manage big hotels. As we all know, most 5 star hotels are managed by expatriate managers. Why aren't these hotels managed by Indonesians? Why seek managers from distant places when Indonesian general managers are not inferiority in their quality?”

Arief said the IHGM and the government must join forces to advance Indonesian tourism. “We hope there is government support, particularly in the area of transportation. Main air gateways must be improved in order that visiting tourist can be impressed with our welcome. There must be more order in how new hotel permits are issued. Isn't it better

to develop existing hotels instead of opening many new hotels?” he asked.

Angkoso Soekardi, senior chairman of IHGM, said the group's goal for the future is to ensure its managers are ready to “go international.” Adding: “We want to upgrade our human resources so they c a n c o m p e t e i n t e r n a t i o n a l l y . I ndones ian gene ra l

m a n a g e r s f e e l t h e y a r e competent to compete anywhere.

Angkoso said only a few Indonesians have successfully managed to take on general manager roles overseas. “I personally worked as a general manager for four years in the Middle East. In a short time one of my friends will become a general manager in Dubai,” he explained.

Speaking to his members, Angkoso said: “Believe in yourselves. Don't be frightened when you see a foreigner. Don't feel inferior; the color of our blood is the same. The main point: don't be afraid to compete, because our abilities are no less than outsiders.”

Less Than Special Welcome for Bali's VIPs

Bali Deputy-Governor Scold Airport Management for Uncompleted VIP Terminal

The Deputy-governor of Bali has joined the growing local chorus highly critical of the management of Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport by calling on the senior management of PT Angkasa Pura to repair and upgrade the VIP waiting rooms.

As reported by NusaBali, D e p u t y - g o v e r n o r K e t u t Sudikerta scolded the general manager of PT Angkasa Pura Herry Sikado and the chief of the Airport Authority Bintang Hidayat at a meeting attended by the

Transportation Directorate of Bali I Ketut Artika on Thursday, November 6, 2014.

Sudikerta demanded that the facilities for VVIP visitors to Bali be completed, bemoaning that that the original deadline of 2013 has long since come and g o n e f o r t h e p r o m i s e d completion of the VIP and VVIP waiting rooms at the airport. While putting the finishing touches on these areas, Sudikerta suggested to the airport management that they coordinate with the Provincial Administration, obtaining their input on the interior design and furniture elements.

Sudikerta also expressed h i s dissatisfaction w i th the c u r r e n t entrance and exit for the VIP terminal at the airport, asking f o r a n e w entrance to prevent traffic jams when a V I P movement is underway. He

cautioned the Airport's management that permission to use the VIP terminal must always be obtained in advance from the provincial government who are finally in charge of the facility.

Responding to the stern words from the Deputy-governor, Herry Sikado and Bintang Hidayat assured Sudikerta that t he con t rac to r was now undertaking the VIP terminal's completion. They agreed that a separate entrance to the VIP II terminal was needed in order to separate special guests from regular users of Bali's airport.

New Minister of Agrarian Affairs Affirms: Foreigners C a n n o t O w n L a n d i n Indonesia

The Minister of Agrarian Affair and Spatial Planning, Ferry Mursyidan Baldan, has reaffirmed the long-standing principle that land ownership in Indonesia is an exclusive right reserved for Indonesian citizens.

Quoted in NusaBali, Minister Baldan warned: “Foreigners cannot own land anywhere within the sovere ign ter r i to ry o f Indonesia. This is in keeping with Section 33 of the Agrarian law of

1945 that governs the ownership of land and the resources within those lands.”

The Minister said there are special circumstance where foreigners living in Indonesia are permitted to rent, invest or build factories for specified periods of time, providing in every instance that the Indonesian people and the C o u n t r y d e r i v e some clearly defined benefit from the foreigners using the Nation's land.

O t h e r c o n d i t i o n s f o r foreign usage of Indonesian territory, said Baldan, is that the foreigner must b e r e s i d e n t i n I ndones ia o r a foreign company must have a branch in Indonesia.

Concluding his comments, the Minister added: “Although there are rights to use land granted to foreigners, ownership of land is never granted to foreign national because of the underlying principle that the lands, waters and resources of Indonesian must be under the control of the State.”

Rosberg holds off Hamilton for crucial Brazil winNico Rosberg kept himself in play for the 2 0 1 4 w o r l d championsh ip t i t l e decider by dominating a dramatic and nail-biting Grand Prix in Brazil on Sunday, despite race long pressure from Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton.

Rosberg is now just 17 points behind Hamilton, with 50 up for grabs in the title decider in Abu Dhabi in a fortnight. Should Rosberg prevail there, Hamilton would have to finish second in order to clinch the title.

Rosberg had held his advantage away from the start and led through the first round of pit stops, but Hamilton was closing fast as Rosberg pitted for a second time. The Briton set a new fastest lap of the race, but rather than pit immediately he stayed out and was caught out on tyres that were finished he locked the rear wheels going into Turn 4 and half spun. Though he recovered quickly, he emerged with a 7.4s gap to work on.

He did so in brilliant style, relentlessly closing that down to less than two seconds by the time of their third and final stops on the 50th and 51st laps, but thereafter Rosberg was able to withstand every attack, avenging his defeat in Austin last weekend.

To the delight of the home crowd, the Silver Arrows duo were joined on the podium by Williams' home favorite Felipe Massa, who took a hard-fought third place, and his long overdue first podium of the year after dealing with a five-second stop and go penalty when his speed limiter

failed to work in his first stop. The Brazilian also lost time when he later pulled in to the McLaren rather than Williams bay during his third stop, because the mechanics waiting for Jenson Button were similarly attired to his own.

Massa's team mate Valtteri Bottas could have been in contention to capitalize, but suffered a delay of his own during his

second pit stop and was unable to recover. Thus fast starting Jenson Button turned fifth on the

grid into a very strong fourth in the race for McLaren, fighting successfully to pull away from Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. The latter had a late battle with team mate Kimi Raikkonen, who made a two stop strategy work to claim seventh. The Finn faded over the final laps and was very nearly caught by Force India's Nico Hulkenberg, who was also out of kilter on stops, with just two tenths of a second splitting the pair at the chequered flag.

Kevin Magnussen was a distant ninth in the second McLaren, while Bottas recovered to take the final point in 10th place. Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat was 11th ahead of Lotus's Pastor Maldonado, team mate Jean Eric Vergne and the Saubers of Esteban Gutierrez and Adrian Sutil, who sandwiched Sergio Perez's Force India in 15th.

There were two retirements: Romain Grosjean had to pull to a halt as smoke engulfed his Lotus on Lap 64, while Daniel Ricciardo who had initially chased Red Bull team mate Vettel - suffered a front suspension failure.

MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez claims record 13th win

Marquez.Marquez started fifth on the

grid after a crash in qualifying on Saturday, but quickly moved up to third behind Rossi and Andrea Iannone. He then had to bide his time before passing Rossi on lap 10 and Iannone a lap later. And in a fitting end to a sensational season h e s p e d a w a y f r o m t h e competition to seal a comfortable victory despite some intermittent spells of rain.

"When it started to rain I didn't know what to do, I just had to concentrate and then I was out on my own. I was enjoying it a lot and I thought I would risk it, I didn't have anything to lose.It went well and now I have to celebrate."

Second place in the overall

s t a n d i n g s w a s Rossi's best finish since he won the last of his seven premier class world titles in 2009, but the 35 year old admitted it is going to be hard to get back on top of the world with Marquez around in the final years of his career.

"With Marquez there is it going to be very difficult," said the Italian."I

am very happy because it has been a very positive season for me."I was on the podium many times, won two races and got a pole position yesterday."

Pedrosa, however, wasn't as satisfied with his end to the season as the rain affected his pursuit of Rossi for second place.

“It wasn't very easy to see when it was raining because it was raining more at the end of the track than the beginning, so the whole race I was pushing a little more, then a little less."It was difficult to calculate the risk and the moment when it was raining hardest was when I lost most time on Valentino, but to end the season with a podium isn't bad."

Marquez's victory lifted him past the previous record m a r k h e l d b y Australian rider Mick Doohan of 12 victories in 17 races in 1997. Victory for the 21 year old in the 18th and final race of the season also ensured he and Pedrosa delivered back to back constructors titles for Honda.

Ross i ' s second p lace ensured he finished second overall in the championship standings with Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo, who retired from the race with five laps remaining, back in third.

It was a special Sunday all round for the Marquez family as Alex Marquez followed in his older brother's footsteps earlier in the day by becoming Moto3 world champion to ensure a clean sweep of world titles for Spanish riders in 2014."The truth is am very, very happy. During the race at times I was thinking of my brother and thought I had to do well," said

He's the newest Joey in the Kangaroos side, but Test rookie Josh Jackson is under no illusions about the task Australia faces in their Four Nations rugby league final against New Zealand. The highly rated Bulldogs back rower became the ninth Australian Test debutant of the tournament, when he came off the bench in Sunday's 44 to 18 thumping of Samoa in Wollongong.

The victory secured Australia's place in Saturday's final in Wellington against a New Zealand side that inflicted a 30 to 12 defeat on Australia in the first round of matches back on October 25 in Brisbane."The first week was really disappointing, but the last couple of weeks the boys have put in a couple of good performances”, Jackson said at Sydney Airport on Monday."But there's still a lot that we can improve on”.

While he's an international novice, Jackson knows exactly what

to expect from the New Zealand forwards should he get the call to face them from coach Tim Sheens."New Zealand have always had a really strong forward pack," Jackson said."They play their game through the middle and they do it well, so it will be a good test for us.

"Any time we go over to New Zealand it's a tough game. They've been a quality side for a number of years now.

"We've got to give them the respect and try and hold on to the ball and do the simple things to try and win the game”.

Mitchell Johnson, Australian cricketer, has found unique formula to maintain mental edge

E V E R w o n d e r e d what's going through Mitchell Johnson's mind as he turns at the top of his mark and prepares to scare the life out of another helpless batsman?

First ly, i t 's not images o f sp layed s t u m p s o r b u s t e d helmets, it's a song.

“When I'm out in the middle now, I just have a song in my head,” Johnson tells the December issue of Men's Health.

“That way, my mind doesn't fill with thoughts. I learnt this trick from Glenn McGrath. If you've got a song in your head, there's no room for bad thoughts.”

But which one? You're first guess is probably

an Aussie rock anthem or a heavy metal number that gets the blood boiling. Try again.

“I like the song Happy by Pharrell Williams,” Johnson says. “It reminds me of my daughter.”

The unusual song choice is part of a unique mental approach which Johnson credits for his wild success in recent years.

The fast bowler was almost lost to international cricket earlier t h i s d e c a d e b e c a u s e o f inconsistent performances.

He admits he was actually hoping to get injured to avoid the pressure of performing at the highest level and considered quitting all together.

“That's something I don't like to admit, but it's true. I wanted to get injured,” he said.

“Yeah, I considered walking away from the game at that point. I definitely considered it. But my wife, Jess, said, 'Do you really want to walk away now? Do you want to give up?' And that stuck in my mind, because I don't like to give up. I don't want to be thought

of as someone who gives up.”

One defining moment w a s a m e e t i n g w i t h decorated Australian soldier Ben Roberts-Smith in 2012.

After giving Johnson an insight on the mindset he took into battle, the Victoria Cross recipient took the cr icketer to the SAS barracks in Perth for a workout.

Johnson, who had p r e v i o u s l y r e l i e d o n motivation from teammates

and personal trainers while in the gym, learnt a valuable lesson on the advantages of training by himself.

“Now I do all my strength training alone,” Johnson said.

“I would never have been able to do that before. I would never have been able to push myself hard enough to see gains. But I now enjoy training on my own for that very reason, every session I can feel it improving my mental strength.”

Now with 270 Test wickets to his name and a nomination for the ICC cricketer of the year, Johnson certainly appears to have found his 'Happy' place.

Porntraumatic stress disorderChinese doctors claim to have diagnosed a new mental illness, porn t r a u m a t i c s t r e s s disorder.

The condition was defined after examining the case of a teenager who says his life was ruined by being exposed to pornography from the age of five. Lei Chung, 16, used to live with his mother and father in a tiny one bedroom flat in the city of Dongguan in southern China's Guangdong Province.

Lei Chung, 16, has been diagnosed with what doctor's say is a new mental illness, porn traumatic stress disorder. The condition was defined after the teenager said his life had been ruined by being exposed to pornography from the age of five. He claims that at the age of five, he would lie awake at night and stare at his father using the computer on the table next to his bed to watch porn movies.

He told doctors “I tried not to look, but there were always these noises and when I did look I couldn't get the images out of my head”. He claims that when he asked his father not to watch such material, he had beaten him, and the situation at home had become even worse.

The images have haunted him ever since. It is reported that despite starting out well at school, he was unable to get the graphic images out of his head. As a result, his school work suffered, leading to him eventually dropping out. He was also unable to get a job because the porn

images had constantly been floating around in his mind.

His despair at the graphic images inside his mind led to him quitting school and trying to commit suicide. In the end he tried to commit suicide, but was persuaded out of it by a friend who urged him to seek medical advice. Doctors have now confirmed the pornographic films that have haunted the boy through his life are to blame for his

suffering.However instead of post

traumatic stress disorder, they have branded it porn traumatic stress disorder. Doctor Yi Tu, who has been treating Lei, said “It is a clear case proving that the exposure of young children to pornographic material before they really have the capacity to understand it is seriously damaging to their mental health. Parents should take steps to make sure children are not exposed to this sort of imagery and especially not at such a young age”.

That's right one of the top universities in the US is offering its students a class on the art of safe anal sex.

It is quite common in the states for universities to have a “sex week” and no it's not a massive seven day orgy, that's

f r e s h m a n week. It's a week c o n s i s t i n g o f s e m i n a r s , l e c t u r e s a n d classes aimed at teaching students how to have safe and enjoyable sex. And if you didn't think it could get any better, wait until you h e a r t h e

name of the class “What in the Butt, Anal Sex 101”.

And yes they do teach you how to convince your girlfriend that it won't hurt just use lube. But that's not all, the main goal of the class is not only to teach students how to

have enjoyable and safe anal sex, but to also dispel the myths that surround it.

The talk will be led by owners of a local sex shop who will give Harvard students insights into why people do it and how to do it well, basically how to do it like a god without using contraceptives or having a baby/abortion.

Invited to dinner, then tortured to

Death

A father is facing murder charges after he invited his 14-year-old daughter's alleged rapist over for dinner, and then burned his genitals with heated tongs before strangling him to death.

According to reports, the 36-year-old father in India was getting revenge on his underage daughter's 45-year-old alleged rapist.

“He served him dinner,” an officer said. “After the meal, the father overpowered the man and tied him to a chair. He got heated tongs and burned the supplier 's genitals before strangling him to death. He came to the police station and surrendered himself.”

According to police, the 45-year-old alleged rapist is suspected as being one of two people that raped the young victim a few months ago when she was home alone.

The rapist allegedly told his victim to stay quiet about the assault, but the daughter reportedly told her father the same day.

Gunung Lesung - in North Bali is decorated with three lakes, which are: Lake Buyan , Lake Beratan and Lake Tamblingan, where nature has been kept almost untouched. All three lakes are the life-source for the surrounding communities. Located by the village of Munduk in the sub-regency of Banjar in the regency of Bulelemg, Tamblingan is a relatively small lake covering a surface of only around 1.5 square kilometers with a depth of 90 meters. The name Tamblingan is derived from the word tamba meaning medicine or medicinal, and elingang meaning spiritual. Legend goes that between the 10th to the 14th century the residents of four villages surrounding the lake, namely the villages of Munduk, Gobleg, Gesing, and Umejero were tasked to guard over the sanctity of the lake. But one day suddenly all four villages were stricken by an infectious disease. Hereupon, a holy priest went down to the lake to fetch water. He prayed at the lake and through his spiritual powers the sick in the four villages were cured, cleansed by the lake's healing waters.

From that time on, people built many temples on and surrouding Lake Tamblingan. These are Pura Endek, Pura Dalem Tamblingan, Pura Sang Hyang Kawuh, Pura Ulun Danu, Pura Pengukiran, Pura Gubug, Pura Embang, Pura Batulepang, Pura Pengukusan, Pura Naga Loka, and Pura Tirta Mengening. While two other temples, the Pura Tukang Timbang and Pura Embang are built of ancient stones, believed to originate from the pre-Hindu era even prior to the 10th century. The many temples together with the lake now form a beautiful landscape that emits its own fascinating aura. As Lake Tamblingan lies 1,000 meters above sea level, the climate here is cool. The early morning mist that hangs over the waters, strangely enhances its mystical appeal. According to folklore, centuries ago the area was once inhabited by a people who lived peacefully under a well ordered government, and a well organized welfare and cultural system. By Lake Tamblingan near lake Buyan along the south-north highway that links the cities of Depasar with Singaraja, live a host of monkeys. These multiply so fast, that they are often called the teeming monkeys of the jungle.

This week you might feel empowered to take action on a goal or plan that's important to you. Even though a Mars/Uranus connection suggests a part of you may rebel against additional responsibility, you'll need to factor this into the equation in order to succeed. Along with this, a dip in energy could temporarily dent your confidence, but it's worthwhile forging ahead, whatever it takes. By the weekend you'll feel more like your old self and eager to see what the future holds.

While relationships may have been both rewarding and trying for a while, this week adds a new dimension to certain close connections. If you've been putting off making a decision, events may encourage you to go for it. Anxiety around doing the right thing may have caused delays while also leaving certain issues unresolved. Go with your gut on this, and be strong enough to do whatever feels right. Romantic options bring the potential for a love adventure as Venus glides into Sagittarius.

You may have one or two issues to tackle that demand firm, decisive action. First, joint financial affairs may lead to an overhaul, especially if a partner or lender asks you to clean up your act. All is not lost, as your willingness to shoulder responsibility will stand you in good stead. Success may depend on a careful handling of resources along with the willingness to recycle items, skills, and abilities that may have been cast aside. Romantic options sizzle if you're looking for love.

Do you feel you're sacrificing your purpose in life in order to make someone feel better? If so, this week's alignment may encourage you to sort things out. If a family member, pal, or sweetheart resents the amount of time you spend on getting ahead, you'll need to have a firm talk. The Venus/Saturn link might encourage a close a commitment to a love interest or a creative idea you've been nurturing. Health matters may move to the top of your agenda.

This week's blend of energies encourages you to consider if you've been deluding yourself. A realistic and down-to-earth set of transits can give you vital perspective on what's happening and what you need to do about it. Home and family matters may have been bugging you for some time. Perhaps you don't realize the extent to which you've been affected, especially where health is concerned. This week it would help to make decisions that reinforce your commitment to yourself and your well-being.

Reorganizing your financial affairs while taking the lead concerning home and family developments could keep you busy this week. If money is tight, you might try recycling, bartering, or other methods that encourage the exchange of goods or services. The input of a partner or family member could also be instrumental in creating progressive change in your personal life. Though much of this week requires a lot of thought and hard work, the weekend offers a chance to spend

You may have a lot on your plate, but a willingness to wade in and tackle seemingly messy problems will help ease anxiety in the long term. Along with this, changes to your daily routines and habits may be necessary in order to accommodate plans and ideas, though you might need to compromise at times. Don't let temporary discouragement put you off. This isn't the time to quit but to increase the pace and persevere until things are resolved to your satisfaction.

This could be an introspective week when you may benefit from an in-depth exploration of key issues in your life. This can be a good time for counseling or therapy, particularly if you sense you might benefit from someone else's input and advice. While certain aspects spotlight adventure and the broadening of horizons, it seems you're looking for a deeper reason to follow a certain path or adopt certain beliefs. There's no need to hurry. You'll know when you're on the right track.

You may feel very motivated to take action regarding a key issue that has been bugging you for some time. Going ahead could mean you resolve matters fairly quickly, easing angst and leaving you feeling much more optimistic about the future. In addition, your social life seems very busy, with a chance you'll be organizing events or perhaps attending more formal get-togethers. An air of mystery might surround one meeting, leaving you intrigued. Mercury's link to Pluto may encourage collaborating with a likeminded someone.

There's a lot to consider this week, including ideas and decisions associated with your career and purpose in life. But before you get going, it might help to spend some time in quiet reflection to make sure that you're doing what's best for you. There's also a chance that hurrying might lead you to make the wrong decision. Talking things over with someone who has knowledge of your predicament might be helpful at this stage. Your social life explodes into life starting this weekend!

Your personal experiences may be rather intense, particularly if you're involved in an all-consuming romance or creative project. It might help to stand back from your situation and take a break now and again. Failing that, getting a confidant's take on things might help you see a situation from a different perspective. If your confidence wavers, continue anyway. You'll benefit from taking the right action and making some decisions. As Neptune forges ahead, the truth about a relationship may be revealed.

A social situation could lead to a crunch question or decision early on, so be ready! At the same time, you'll be eager to forge ahead, particularly when it comes to plans and ideas that can deliver positive challenges and dynamic change. Neptune turns direct in your sign, which could coincide with greater clarity regarding key issues in your life. As Venus jogs into Sagittarius, you'll likely find that cooperation gets you places, particularly concerning career and goals.

Bachman Turner Overdrive is a Canadian rock group from Winnipeg, Manitoba, that had a series of hit albums and singles in the 1970s, selling over 7 million albums in that decade alone. Their 1970s catalogue included five Top 40 albums and six U.S. Top 40 singles (ten in Canada). The band has sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide, and has fans affectionately known as "gearheads" (derived from the band's gear-shaped logo). Many of their songs, including "Let It Ride", "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", "Takin' Care of Business", "Hey You" and "Roll On Down the Highway", still receive play on classic-rock stations.

After the band went into a hiatus in 2005, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner reunited in 2009 to tour and collaborate on a new album. In 2010, they played the halftime show at the Grey Cup in Edmonton, AB and continue to tour as of summer 2014.On March 29, 2014, The classic "Not Fragile" line up reunited for the first time since 1991 to accept the JUNO Award for Bachman-Turner Overdrive and participated in performing in a tribute version of "Takin' Care of Business.”

The precursor to BTO was the band Brave Belt, formed in Winnipeg in 1971 by Randy Bachman and Chad Allan, both formerly of The Guess Who, and drummer Robin "Robbie" Bachman. Randy initially planned to just produce a solo album for Allan, but eventually both he and Robbie stepped in to provide much of the instrumental work. When the record label wanted them to tour, Randy

(at the suggestion of Neil Young) called fellow Winnipeg bassist/vocalist C.F. "Fred" Turner to perform in the band's scheduled gigs.

Brave Belt's self-titled first album did not sell particularly well and Allan left the band shortly after the supporting tour started. Not having a lead vocal replacement ready, Turner was asked to be a full-time member and sing lead for the recording of Brave Belt II in 1972. Brave Belt II also failed to achieve major chart success and in mid-1972 their tour in support of the album was canceled halfway through. But Turner's influence had started to make itself felt as the band morphed from pure country rock to a harder, guitar-heavy sound featuring Turner's gruff, powerful voice.

Chad Allan appears as a vocalist on two Brave Belt II songs but was essentially out of the band for any supporting tours. During this period, Tim Bachman was added as a second guitarist because the band had felt their three-piece arrangement was too restrictive. After Reprise Records dropped Brave Belt from their label, the band landed a new recording deal from Mercury Records, one which Randy Bachman proclaimed as a pure stroke of luck. After their demo tape had been rejected 26 times, Bachman was prepared to tell the other band members that they would no longer be able to remain on salary, "And they had to go and get the dreaded day jobs". However, in April 1973, Charlie Fach of Mercury Records returned to his office after a trip to France to find a stack of unplayed demo tapes waiting on his desk. Wanting to start completely fresh, he took a trash can and slid all the tapes into it except one which missed the can and fell onto the floor. Fach picked up the tape and noticed Bachman's name on it. He remembered talking to him the previous year and had told Bachman that if he ever put a demo together to send it to him. Fach called Bachman, and Randy describes the conversation from there:"I could hear 'Gimme Your Money Please' playing in the background, and that was the first song on the tape. Back then, you sent out two 7½ -inch reels of your album, an A-side and a B-side, and that was side one, cut one. He said, 'Randy, this is fabulous. Is the rest of the album like this?' And I said, 'Yeah, it's all just good ol', dancing rock-and-roll.' So he said, 'Well, I have a meeting with my A&R people, but as far as I'm concerned, this is great and I want to sign it.' The rest my friends is history.

Morris , an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical.

A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman

on his arm. A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, 'You're really doing great, aren't you?'

Morris replied, 'Just doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.''

The doctor said, 'I didn't say that.. I said, 'You've got a heart murmur; be careful.'

'Is she a good cook?' 'Naw, she can't cook too well.'

'I don't know.' 'Why in the world do you want to marry her then?'

'Because she can still drive!'

parlour and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool.

After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split.

The waitress asked kindly, 'Crushed nuts?' 'No,' he replied, 'Arthritis.'
