• Introduced to U.S in 1800’s
• Introduced to the south for erosion control
How is Kudzu a pest?
• Hard to prevent
• Covers telephone poles, decks, etc.
• Grows quickly: about 1 foot a day!
• Spreads over just about anything.
Has Kudzu did harm to other creatures?
• Lessoned timber (tree) growth
• Climbs over trees and shrubs- killing them (Heavy shading kills plants)

• Grows great in warm climate
• Plentiful rainfall
• Grows well because of lack of bugs and diseases
