Woes of a Teenager! Study, Study everywhere!

Parents act like judges and mayor! We can’t do this,can’t do that

Can’t eat too much or we’ll get fat! Do we look good,do we look bad?

All day long,we go mad Isn’t it irritating and

I have a doubt, Why not parties all night allowed..?

Alpha,Beta and Gama Have made our life a big drama.

Are we made for all this hell, We want to be free…Ah swell!

Finally to this conclusion I thought, It’s not only me,there are a lot,

Life is too short, We are always taught,

Work hard and perform your best, Leave behind all the rest!

Discipline– Training the Self Jack and Jill, went up the hill, In search of disciple Jack did not find

any discipline around As it comes from our own free will. Name a person who is successful but not disciplined? It's hard to think of an answer because dreams and their accomplishment is possible only through discipline. But the question arises what exactly Discipline means? It's a controlled behavior, an organized way, a virtue which we follow when no one sees us. Discipline is like green vegetables. It may not taste good but it will finally benefit you! Discipline is like the refining fire in which talent becomes ability. Discipline is like the good seed, which when sown yields a harvest to satisfy us, that makes us peaceful and successful . Maintaining discipline from outside is an uphill task. To do so we have prefects in a school, police in a city, army in a Country and UNO in the World. But do we need all this to inculcate discipline in us? No, It comes from our own will. It can't be taught, it can't be forced. Success does not happen .You have to be intentional about it and that again takes discipline. Just as it is difficult to reshape the pot after it has been baked, in the same way it is difficult to change the child's habit after he/she has matured. Therefore, discipline has to be inculcated right from childhood. It has to be gently nurtured till it gets ingrained in the personality. And then it becomes a healthy habit– the benefits of which we can reap all our lives. While outside agencies help us to distinguish right from wrong, discipline is all about exerting our free will for what is right. Thus, discipline is personal leadership. Some people regard discipline as a chore but for us it should be an order that sets us to fly high. Treat discipline as your friend, fulfill its necessity ,and enjoy its company for a fulfilling and successful life. Amen! ThankYou

Common Wealth Games Quiz (04-01-2014) To celebrate 200 days to go for Common Wealth Games at Scotland, British Council conducted quiz. It is a practice at MAPS to gain knowledge through various sources. School took initiative to send Ms.Sushima Gupta along with two students’ Harshit Kansal and Sakshi kaushik to participate in the quiz. Quiz was all about history of CWG; events and sportspersons. It was sponsored by Bloomsbury publications. Quiz master Mr.Roy conducted the quiz in two rounds. The enriching learning experience will always remain alive in the hearts of the participants.

The following workshops enlightened the teachers & students during this quarter which proved to be a great learning experience for one and all - WORKSHOPS

Our institution celebrated “World Cancer Day” in collaboration with Doctors’ Association, Ashok Vihar, headed by Dr. H.K. Gupta. Members of Agroha Mahila Mandal were also present on the occasion . The event unfolded with a Drawing Competition for age-groups 8-11 and 12-15. The participants gave beautiful colours to their thoughts regarding ’Cancer Awareness’. Dr. Dinesh Singh the renowned oncologist in his speech stressed on the need to spread awareness about this diseases which can be fatal but is now curable. In the second leg of the event, around fifty students of our school forged a human chain to create awareness against cancer with their high-pitched slogans. The enthusiasm and the gusto of the students was appreciated and applauded by the organizers.
