What is the CEO Forum?
The CEO Forum on Education and Technology was an organization (1996-2001) formed to help schools in America prepare all students to be contributing citizens and productive workers in the 21st Century
Purpose of Report
Collect and synthesize research that has been compiled over the past 5 years regarding the use of technology in schools.
Encourage schools to take action to ensure technology improves our nation’s schools and prepares students to succeed in the competitive global economy.
Why Now?

CEO Forum’s 6 Recommendations
1. Focus education technology investment on specific educational objectives. Educational objectives must be aligned with state
standards and assessments.
2. Make the development of 21st century skills a key educational goal. 21st century skills are considered the following: digital
age literacy, inventive thinking, effective communication, and high productivity

1. Align student assessment with educational objectives and include 21st century skills.
Assessment should be continuous, not just out-dates high stakes tests.
2. Adopt continuous improvement strategies to measure progress and adjust accordingly.
Collect data and use it to make instructional changes.

5. Increase investment in research and development and dissemination. Clear link between technology and student
achievement, but need to focus on how and why.
6. Ensure equitable access to technology for all students. This includes equal learning experiences.

District changes Making data driven decisions. Data analyzed to find best teaching strategies.

Questions and Comments
The results of the article are what I expect them to be…that educational technology can improve student achievement.
What methods of research were used to gather this information?
Information was difficult to follow with many side bars of information, tables, and columns. I would have keep the format the same throughout the article.
I would like to see a follow up that includes how school are implementing these recommendations and whether or not they see an improvement in student achievement.
