Kraft Foods in Australia changes company name
Kraft Foods businesses in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, will be known as Mondelēz International from today (1 July)
Although new in name, what we do and how we do it remains the same, and we will continue our position as a leader in innovation and sustainability
In Australia, we will continue building on our 100 years of history with the same iconic brand portfolio, including Vegemite, Cadbury Dairy Milk, The Natural Confectionery Co, Liveactive specialty cheese and Philadelphia.
Melbourne, Australia – July 1, 2013 – From today, the Kraft Foods business in Australia
will be known as Mondelēz International, although Australia has been operating as part of the
Mondelēz International family of companies since 1 October 2012.
The move came as part of the global change in October, when parent company Kraft
Foods, Inc. split into two independent companies – Mondelēz International, Inc (NASDAQ:
MDLZ) and Kraft Foods Group, Inc (NASDAQ: KRFT).
“With a new name”, Ms Rebecca Dee-Bradbury, President Developed Markets, Asia
Pacific explained, “the business will carry forward the values of its legacy organisation. What we
do and why remains the same”.
“In Australia, Mondelēz International will continue to be a thought leader in the fields of
innovation and sustainability and remains focused on the benefits of a strong working
relationship with Asia,” Ms Dee-Bradbury said. “Innovation is one of the keys to the success of
our business and to a sustainable manufacturing and food industry in Australia. Our business is
committed to unlock innovations and the next family favourite by working closely with suppliers,
higher education providers and government”.
Mondelēz International is Australia’s fastest growing food manufacturer and an important
contributor to the Australian economy. In the past 12 months, the Australian and New Zealand
businesses contributed $AUS3.5 billion across to the local economy. Across Australia and New
Zealand we employee 3,000 people directly and over 2,000 people indirectly. Mondelēz
International is committed to Australia’s manufacturing sector with over 90 per cent of products
sold in Australia made in one of our five manufacturing sites located in Claremont (TAS), Port
Melbourne (VIC), Scoresby (VIC), Ringwood (VIC) and Suttontown (SA). In 2012, the business
introduced 30 new products drawing upon both our local ingenuity and global expertise.

Built on more than 100 years of local heritage, the focus remains on continuing the rich
legacy of iconic brands that are found in 98.5 per cent of Australian homes – with household
names like Vegemite, Cadbury and Philadelphia.
Ms Dee-Bradbury said, “The local team in Australia is energised and highly optimistic
about the business’ direction and the innovation opportunities that are on the horizon. We’re
eager to live out our mission statement - to bring joy to everything we do.”
